In the early hours of May 15, 2023, Louis Michael Prisco of Millbrook, NY passed away surrounded by his family. Mickey Prisco was as unique and memorable as they come. He was known as a storyteller and was eternally interested in everyone he encountered. With all his strength, focus, and humor he loved his family, friends, and community above all else. Mickey was born to Michael and Mary Prisco at Coney Island Hospital on June 8, 1934. He grew up between Brooklyn and Kingston, NY as his father's jobs changed. He was a devoted son and brother. Enlisting in the United States Marine Corps had a significant affect on his life. He generously shared the pride and wisdom he learned and developed in the military with everyone he knew and was known to sing the Marine Corps Hymn without warning. Upon his return to New York from the Marine Corps in California, Mickey sought out a job at Western Printing where he met his bride and lifelong partner Florence Corsilia Prisco, known to all as Fussy. Then, Mickey went to work for IBM and he and Fussy began a family in 1964 with the birth of their son, George. Then in 1968 they welcomed their daughter, Amy. In April, 2023, Mickey and Fussy's children and grandchildren gathered at Charlotte's Restaurant in Millbrook to celebrate the couple's 60th wedding anniversary at the same site their wedding reception was held, then called the Silver Horn. Mickey was known to so many as a 50+ year volunteer fireman at the Millbrook Fire Department. Mickey joined the Millbrook Fire Department in December of 1966, he served as Vice President for four years and as a Director of the Board for fourteen years. In December of 1991, Mickey became a life member having served 25 years of active service. Mickey was also a Little League coach, Santa Claus at Village Christmas celebrations, an active member of St. Joseph's Church and a long-time volunteer at MidHudson Regional Hospital, formerly St. Francis Hospital. Along with his regular court duties, it was his privilege to have officiated more than 700 weddings. With his family around him, Mickey said he "came into this world with nothing and wanted to make it a better place. " He did, and for that his family, friends, and the entire community that is Millbrook will forever be grateful that they knew, loved, and were loved by Mickey Prisco. Raymond Meagher

Raymond E. Meagher, 88 years old of Millbrook, NY, passed away on Friday, February 24 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center due to various medical complications. He was born on July 21, 1934, to Raymond E. Meagher, Sr. and Florence Coupe Meagher and spent the majority of his youth growing up on Garfield Place in the City of Poughkeepsie. In high school, Ray attended the Hill School in Pottstown, PA, moving on to Cornell University where he graduated in 1957. Upon college graduation, Ray joined the US Marine Corp as Second Lieutenant. He was very proud of his military service in the Marine Corp. Upon discharge, he began his career at Wolf and Munier, a large mechanical construction firm in New York City. In 1961, he moved back to Poughkeepsie to join his older brother, Henry Meagher at the company in which his brother founded, the former Mechanical Construction Corporation on Water Street in the City of Poughkeepsie. For nearly 40 years, they operated this highly successful and respected mechanical contractor/HVAC company, which ultimately played a role in the construction of facilities at Stewart Newburgh Airport, the Culinary Institute of America, Vassar College, and various IBM facilities including their World Headquarters in Armonk, NY. It was also around this time of his return to Poughkeepsie that he met a young, beautiful Vassar College student originally from the Philadelphia Main Line. In 1963, he married that girl, Margaret (Bonnie) MacInnes, and were blessed with nearly sixty years of a very beautiful marriage. In addition to his business acumen, Ray was an accomplished athlete who particularly loved tennis and skiing. He was a long-standing member of the Millbrook Golf & Tennis Club. In 1966, his passion for skiing lead he and his brother to embark on a project that carved rock out of a hill in Fayston, Vermont, ultimately building the family's "Mad Chalet" at Mad River Glen. He skied well into his 80s, proudly competing with this son and grandson in MRG's fabled family ski tournament (jokingly, he would complain that the tournament should have been judged on a sliding scale, since he quite often was the oldest grandfather on the slopes). Beloved and respected by many, Ray enriched people's lives with a true sense of authenticity, genuine care and deep-seated generosity. Ray was predeceased by his elder siblings; his sister Jeanne Kane (brother-in-law Hon. T. Paul Kane, both formerly of Cobleskill, NY) and Henry Meagher (sister-in-law Janice, both formerly of Hyde Park, NY). He is survived by his wife, Bonnie, and two sons, Ranald (Ran) MacInnes Meagher (and his long-time partner, Ulka Patel of Red Hook) as well as James (Jamie) Stewart Meagher (New York City). Ray is also survived by his grandson, the light of his life, John (Jack) Mulvey Meagher (son of Ran and a freshman at Hobart and William Smith Colleges in Geneva, NY) as well as an adoring (ex)daughter-in-law, Ann Meagher (Millbrook). He is also survived by many wonderful nieces and nephews, and special extended families of friends related to his more than fifty years in Mad River Glen in the Green Mountains of Vermont, and more than forty years spending wonderful summers at Squam Lake in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Visitation will be held at Allen Funeral Home, 3270 Franklin Ave. , Millbrook, NY on Wednesday, March 1 from 4-7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial in his honor will be offered on Thursday, March 2 at 10am from St. Joseph's Church, North Ave. , Millbrook. Suzanne Gilmore McLaughlin passed Friday afternoon, 20 January 2023, without pain in her own bedroom at her Millbrook, New York home as she requested, in the close presence of her husband George holding her hand. Also present were a caregiver from her highly capable and dedicated team of three, her sister, and aptly, two registered nurses. . . one from hospice and one her longtime dear friend. A professional icon in acute care hospital administration, Suzanne graduated from Saint Olaf College with her BS in Nursing, and served at some of the top hospitals in the country including NYC's Columbia Presbyterian and NYU, as well as Boston's Massachusetts Hospital as Head Nurse, Neuro Intensive Care, and earned simultaneously her MBA, as among the first women admitted to Boston University's hospital administration graduate degree program. Subsequently in 1978, and for 18 years, she served Goddard Memorial Hospital, later Good Samaritan, in Stoughton and Brockton, MA as Vice President and Director of Nursing, while she was President, Massachusetts Organization of Nurse Executives (M. O. N. E. ). This was followed by her nomination by the 5600 member American Organization of Nurse Executives (A. O. N. E. ) as President Elect; AONE is a subsidiary of the American Hospital Association (AHA). Listed in Who's Who of American Women, Who's Who of Professional Nursing Administration, and Who's Who of America, Suzanne for 14 years served Poughkeepsie New York's Saint Francis Hospital and Health Centers as both Chief Nursing Officer and Chief Operating Officer, where her spirited and ubiquitous but always humble leadership-by-example complemented her memorable mentorings and sage counsel to many members of the hospital staff (doctors, nurses, and support staff) as well as her community. Her brilliant creativity was much like a New England early May apple blossom of subtle color, pervasive presence, and joyous bee-hum expectations. After over a half-century in astonishingly admirable health care administration with angelic humanity and dedicated empathy to all, Suzanne retired after two years' serving Boston's Saint Elizabeth's Hospital as Vice President of Nursing. Inseparable for 42 years of daily bliss, living simple truths shared with stepchildren Elisabeth, Nathaniel, George (II), and Christian, Suzanne and George epitomized American poetess Emily Dickinson, "If ever two were one, then surely we. . . ". Services of Celebration of Suzanne's Life will be announced for May 2023, apple blossom season.
