Obituary Man that is born of a woman is of few days and full of trouble. Job 14:1 Robert Lee Wiley was born on November 23, 1939, in Webb, Mississippi, to Vada and James Wiley. He was the youngest of nine children and attended West District High School in Sumner, Mississippi, where he also worked as a school bus driver. In the year 1960, Robert moved to Illinois and continued his education at Kennedy King College in Chicago, where he majored in Heating and Air Conditioning. After completing his studies, he started his own HVAC company, Wiley Repair Service, which serviced a large portion of the south suburbs. On September 1, 1962, Robert married Betty Jean Smith in Ford Heights, Illinois, and four children were born to this union. Duty called, and Robert was drafted into the US Army in 1963. He served in Germany until 1965, stationed at Fort Leonard Wood in St. Louis, Missouri. After completing his tour of duty, the family moved to Harvey, Illinois, where he resided until his passing. Robert was an excellent welder and displayed his skills in his employment. He worked as a welder and maintenance supervisor for 42 years at Ford Motor Company, from 1961 to 2003. Robert was preceded in death by his parents: James Wiley Sr. and Vada Wiley; 4 brothers: Alex, James Jr. , Joe Henry, and William Kate Wiley; 3 sisters: Leola Knox, Maggie Davis, and Louise Shannon. He is survived by his wife, Betty Wiley; 3 sons: Marc Wiley of Las Vegas, Nevada, Victor Wiley of Hobart, Indiana, and Vincent Wiley of Paducah, Kentucky, and 1 daughter, Andrea Wiley of Merrillville, Indiana; his sister, Lillie Montgomery of San Antonio, Texas, 16 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
