Francisco "Pancho" Orozco Castellanos, age 80, of Phoenix, Arizona passed from this life on September 23, 2023, in Phoenix, Arizona. He was born in La Barca, Jalisco, Mexico on August 15, 1943, to Mauricio Castellanos and Petra Orozco. Pancho, as he was fondly known, cherished his family. He passed away peacefully with his two daughters; Sylvia Leticia Castellanos and Rosalba "Rose" Puttlitz by his side. Francisco, a retired car painter loved his profession; he loved it so much that he passed on his passion to his son, Francisco "Panchito" Alejandro Castellanos, of course, this turned into a hobby. Pancho and Panchito spent decades restoring historical vehicles and most importantly time together. Pancho was the catalyst of our entire family. He made sure we were always together; playing softball, camping, fishing and gathering on the weekends for pool fun. Pancho loved playing his guitar, singing his favorite artist songs. He and his brothers would get together and entertain us till wee hours of the morning with their sound. He also had a passion for gardening, our home was a gardener's paradise; backyard like a jungle. Pancho was a loving father to his children as well as an amazing grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. There was nothing he would not do for absolutely anyone. Those left to cherish his loving memory include his loving daughters, Silvia Leticia Castellanos and Rosalba "Rose" Puttlitz; brother, Placido Orozco Castellanos; sisters,Maria Carmen Luna, Maria del Refugio Castellanos and Lydia Castellanos Orozco; his beloved grandchildren, Cassandra Leyva Franco, Danielle Leyva, Adriana Leyva, LaNae Cantu, Alexandra Castellanos and Andres Molindo Jr; 11 great grandchildren; other survivors include numerous nieces, nephews and so many others that he considered family. Pancho will be reuniting with the parents; his adored wife, Maria Elena Castellanos; his son, Francisco Alejandro Castellanos; his grandchildren, Xavier Anthony Cantu and Fabian Javier Franco;Brother, Juan Castellanos and sister Maria Carmen Luna. Family and friends will join together at St. Patrick Catholic Community Church; Thursday, October 12, 2023 Visitation will begin at 11 am;the Funeral Mass presided by Fr Eric Tellez will follow at 11:30 am 8541 East Mercer Lane. , Scottsdale, 85260. At Francisco's request cremation will take place and the Rite of Committal and Inurnment of his cremated remains will take place at a later date. The honor of giving his Eulogy will be; Mauricio Castellanos and Benjamin EspinozaThe honor of being Pallbearers will go to, Ramon Castellanos, Mauricio Castellanos, Manuel Becerra, David Cantu, Andres Leyva, Benjamin Espinoza, Gustavo Lopez andKirk Puttlitz. Brenda Link passed away on November 26th, 2023 in Phoenix Arizona surrounded by family and friends. She was a true breast cancer warrior, battling for over four years. She never gave up hope and was an inspiration to those around her. Born in Amery Wisconsin, she was the daughter to Virgil and Edith Swagger and is survived by sister Becky Snyder (Jim) and Brent Swagger (Angie), daughter Jacqueline Bibeau, grandsons Dylen and Cullen Utermohlen, nieces Ashlyn and Brynn, and nephews BJ, Brendon, and Justin. She graduated from St. Croix Falls High School and the University of River Falls. She worked for the Department of Corrections Minnesota for many years before relocating to Arizona and utilizing her degree in elementary education and fulfilling her dream of being a foster parent. Brenda was an active member with her church family. She loved crafting, camping, playing cards, and generally being around her friends. She will be remembered for her generous and compassionate heart. She always put those around her first before her needs. She was kind, full of hope and faith. She was an angel on earth and has earned those wings in heaven. In the spring, Brenda will continue to live on through a living tree urn that will be planted in Wisconsin overlooking her happy place, a lake. More details to come on her burial closer to spring. Esther was born in Ohio on August 6th, 1930. Her parents were both from Slovakia (previously Czechoslovakia) and immigrated to the United States as children. Esther also grew up with three younger sisters, Marilyn, Betty, and Lydia. As a teenager, she moved with her family to Phoenix, Arizona. Esther attended North High, where she graduated in 1948. Esther worked in a bank for a short time. Later, she met Benny Rhodes at a Gideon's meeting at the age of 18. Benny and Esther were married on January 29th, 1949. Esther became a homemaker and she and Benny raised 5 children together- Sandy, Sharon, Melody, David, and Susan. Esther loved to prepare savory meals, making everything from pot roasts to Slovakian breads. She was an excellent seamstress and created many pieces of artwork using oil paints. She loved to read. Over the years of their marriage, she and Benny hosted Bible studies and gatherings for church groups in their home. Esther also sang in the choir, which was under the leadership of her husband. The Rhodes family has always loved music and have enjoyed singing together over the years. They spent many summers and weekends at their mountain cabin in Groom Creek Pines. Their favorite vacation spot was La Jolla Beach in California. They chose this spot to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary in 1999. Esther's husband, Benny, passed away in 2007 at the age of 82. Her daughter, Sandy, also predeceased Esther. Several years following, she moved into an apartment at Sagewood Senior Living Community, where she has been for the past 13 years. Over her lifetime, Esther had 5 children, 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Esther has always loved being with family. She passed peacefully on to glory on November 25th, 2023. In lieu of flowers, a charitable gift to Heritage Bible Church may be given in honor of Esther.Show more

This is to announce the passing of our beloved Robin McLaughlin-Morton in the early morning hours of Thanksgiving Day, November 23, 2023 in Phoenix, Arizona after battling a multitude of ailments. She was preceded in death by her parents Robert Pinto and Elizabeth Geraldine Pinto, and favorite Aunt Dottie. Robin is survived by her husband, James Morton, her son Jeremy McLaughlin, her daughter Eriana McLaughlin, son-in-law Brad Huber, granddaughters Deyondra Bridgeman, Janice Green, and Aimee McLaughlin, first husband Robert McLaughlin, sisters Gayl Closner, Frankie Clement, brother Robert Pinto, Jr. and his wife Pam Pinto, nieces and nephews Theresa, Shelli, Michael Jr. , Chris, Danielle, Nicole, Mark, Angela, Heather, Bob Jr. , and an abundance of loving friends who are family as well. Robin was born in San Diego County, California in 1955. Married in 1972, she moved to Arizona in 1974 to pursue the opportunities the copper state could provide. She moved to Arkansas in the early 2000's to take care of her mother and extend that love to all others that needed it. She volunteered at various programs to help children learn to read. Robin was a lover of music, animals and all human beings. She was a social butterfly who made friends easily and opened her heart and home to so many strays of both the two-legged and four-legged variety. She had a hunger for knowledge of all new age selections, from books pertaining to metaphysics or the power of gem stones to heal. She loved the art of creating whether it was in the kitchen making mouthwatering meals, crafting stained glass, making jewelry or coloring. She loved her fairies and all types of mythical magical creatures. A gypsy-hippy at heart and lover of nature. She loved to take road trips, enjoyed camping, and some of her fondest memories were renting pontoon boats at Canyon Lake with family and friends. She was a beautiful soul who believed that quality of life was far more important than the quantity of life. She did what she could to enrich the lives of those around her. Robins absence is already deeply felt as she was well loved by all who knew her. She will be greatly missed.Show more

Vince passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2023. He was 91. Vince was born to Frank and Mary Gaffney on September 1, 1932, in Masonville, IA. He was the youngest of four children. Later, the family moved to the Gaffney farm in Delaware County, IA and that is where his love of farming began. Vince attended school in Robinson, St. John's in Ryan, and Coggon High School. He quit school after 9th grade to work with his father on the family farm. The memories and closeness to his dad remained with him throughout his life. In 1953 he joined the Army and was honorably discharged after being injured during training. In 1977 he became a successful Realtor working with R. L. Smith and ERA Heritage. He retired in 1997. At that time, he and his spouse began wintering in Arizona permanently moving to Apache Junction in 2000. A whole new world opened for Vince. He began hiking many of the trails in the Superstition Mountains. He hiked to the bottom of the Grand Canyon on three occasions. Vince was a true Irishman and proud of his heritage. He went on two trips to Ireland. In his later years his Irish tenor voice graced many weddings and funerals. He continued to sing in church choirs and barbershop choruses. Vince was preceded in death by his spouse and mother of his 6 children, Mary Ann Haren, spouse Peggy Gaffney, his sister Rita Brown, brother Charles Gaffney and sister, Catherine Ralston. Survivors include children Thomas, Marion, IA,Debra, Dubuque, IA, Julie, Ryan, IA, Michael, Phoenix, AZ, Jeffrey, Phoenix, AZ and Patrick, Palo, IA, 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Services will be held December 5, 2023, at Queen of the Holy Rosary Traditional Roman Catholic Church, 2533 W Myrtle Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85051. (north of Glendale Ave. between 27th and I-17). Viewing and Rosary at 10 am, Mass at 10:30 am. Internment following at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, 2033 N. 48th Street, Phoenix, AZ 85008.
