It is with a heavy heart that we commemorate the life of Maria Villarreal Gonzales, born on January 10, 1943, in the humble town of Sebastian, Texas. Maria, a spirited soul and a beloved figure in her community, passed away on December 4, 2023, leaving behind a lifetime of cherished memories. Maria was a woman of many passions, which ranged from her love for cooking to her unwavering support for the Dallas Cowboys and being their biggest fan. Her dedication to her family, her craft, and her team was nothing short of inspiring. Maria spent the majority of her life in Beeville, Texas, working as a commercial cook and nurturing the hearts and stomachs of those fortunate enough to taste her exquisite meals. She was a dedicated cook, having worked at the Pantry for over 20 years. She was blessed to have a large, loving family. Maria was preceded in death by her parents, Melchor and Petra Villarreal Sr. ; her spouse, Jesus G. Gomez; her granddaughter, Samantha Marie Gomez; her sons, Antero Gonzales and Osvaldo Garza; her brother, Melchor Villarreal Jr. ; and her sister, Estella Flores. Maria is survived by her children, Petra (Leo) DelBosque, Maria (Donald) Earnest, Alicia (Juan Flores) Gonzales, Elvia (Daniel) Saenz, Jesus Juan (Janie) Gomez, Antero (Jessica) Gonzales, and Romana (Mark) Carbajal. She also leaves behind her niece, Irene (Nicolle) Flores, as well as 18 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and her beloved fur-baby Coco, all of whom she loved dearly. Visitation will be held on December 8, 2023, at 5 pm at Trevino Funeral Home, followed by a Rosary service at 7 pm. A Funeral Mass will be officiated by Father Jacob on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at St. James Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Victory Cemetery #2. Pallbearers will be Jesus Juan Gomez, Mark Ryan Carabajal, Matthew Jay Carabajal, Jacob Ram Benavidez, Jonathon Ray Benavidez, and Alexandria Delfina Flores. Honorary Pallbearers will be her grandchildren and Coco. As we remember Maria's life, we invite all who knew her to share their memories, stories, and photographs on her memorial page. These precious tokens of remembrance will help keep Maria's spirit alive in our hearts and minds, reminding us of the remarkable woman she was and the beautiful legacy she has left behind.

Her laugh, her smile, and her joy of life was contagious. Linda is survived by her siblings Elvia (Randal) Gritzner, Thelma (Adrian) Salinas, Corina Garcia, and Regino (Belia) Garcia; her niece Taylor Gritzner; her nephew Mario Gritzner and numerous nieces and nephews. Linda is preceded by her parents Florentino Garcia and Lucia F. Garcia. A memorial service for Linda will be held on Friday, December 8, 2023 at 6PM - 9PM with a prayer service at 7PM at Heavenly Grace Funeral Home, 26873 N. White Ranch Road, La Feria, TX 78559.
