Obituary of Francis Blair Troy, NY Francis Blair, 89, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2019, in Troy, NY Francis is survived by his loving children: Theresa (Malcolm) Guyette, of Grafton, NY, Keith (Shirley) Blair, of Troy NY, Gail Morin, of Valley Falls, NY and Michele Mccarthy, of Richmond KY; his brother Arthur Blair of Troy, NY and his sisters: Margarite (Blair) Bounds of East Greenbush NY, and Beverly Blair of Troy, NY. Francis also leaves behind many grandchildren and great grandchildren whom he greatly adored. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Joan (Salmon) Blair, of Lansingburgh, NY, his parents Charles and Clare Blair, of Cohoes, NY and his brothers: Charles Blair of Cohoes, NY, Joseph Blair of Albany, NY, David Blair of Troy, NY and Raymond Blair of California. Francis was born on August 7,1929 in Cohoes, NY. Francis proudly served in the United States Army's 1745 Company L 29 th Inf. Regt. Francis went on to become a Steel Worker and had a lifelong career as a Lathe Operator for Allegheny Ludlum Steel / Altech Steel in Watervliet, NY. Francis was a great family man and a loving father. He married Joan Salmon in 1948 and the couple had five children together, including Denise Blair, who died in infancy. Francis was a social, active man who enjoyed bowling along with the outdoors; whether he was camping, fishing, or working in his beautiful garden. His family and friends will always remember him as a kind and generous person who was wise beyond his years. Funeral service on Monday, February 4, 2019, at Riverview Funeral Home, 218 2 nd Avenue, (corner of 104 th St.), Lansingburgh, NY 12180, at 11 AM. Visiting hours, prior to the service will be from 10 to 11 AM. Interment with full military honors will be in Memory Gardens, 983 Watervliet Shaker Rd, Albany, NY 12205. The family will be hosting a reception following the services at 38 Brian Court, Troy, NY 12182. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Francis's life that is full of many loving memories. The family would like to thank the staff at Eddy Memorial Geriatric Center for taking such great care of Francis during his stay with them.
