Frances Young Obituary

Frances Irene Shiver Young went to be with our Lord on April 21, 2023. She was 74 years old, born on September 26, 1948. Frances is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Geneva Shiver. She is survived by her husband James "Jim" Cecil Young; brother James Arthur Shiver & wife Margaret and her niece Stephanie; stepdaughters Joy Abernathy & husband Randy, Sandra Young and three grand children Cody Loving, Dusty Benigar and Kambree Young, and her beloved Uncle J. D. Cracker Pruitt. Frances' family moved to Texas City, Texas in 1950. She went to Texas City ISD and graduated in 1966. Jim and Frances were married on August 5, 1995. She ran the church nursery at Texas City First Baptist Church until they bought property in Llano, Texas. Shortly after, she retired from Texas New Mexico Lighting & Power Co. Frances and Jim worked to clear the property they bought and built their dream home. In 2014 she was diagnosed with lung cancer and has been fighting it since. She was involved in several groups; Bunko, BPW, Llano Culture Club, New Horizon, LADI, and mainly Eastern Star. She was about to start her 3rd year as Worthy Matron. Frances ran the nursery at Llano First Baptist for about 16 years. Not having any biological children, she, like Jesus, loved and cared for all of God's children. She was co-chair of the Benevolence Committee for the Llano First Baptist Church and she also worked in the nursery at Grace Gathering women's bible study on Wednesday mornings. She was loved by many and will be missed by many more. In lieu of flowers, a contribution to the American Cancer Society can be made. Visitation from 9am - 10am on Friday, April 28, 2023, at First Baptist Church of Llano. Services beginning at 10am. Burial will follow at the Llano City Cemetery.
