Johnie Pearl Sorge aka Johnnie, was born in Nolan County Texas on Jan 30, 1933. She passed away peacefully at the age of 90 in her home in Wylie Texas. She was the youngest daughter of Pearl and John Storey. Johnnie was preceded in death by her husband Donald Sorge, older sisters Jewel D White and Iris Brown, younger brother Billy Storey, son Ross Sorge, granddaughter Ashley Sorge, grandson Jonathen Moore and great granddaughter Brooke CaddellShe graduated Hardin-Simmons University in 1954. Johnnie had a career as an Elementary school teacher in Midland Texas and Lufkin Texas.She married Donald E Sorge in 1958.Johnnie is survived by her Children, Glen M Sorge, Donna F Stephens and Karon S Moore. Grandchildren, Kylie Sorge, Maggie Sorge, Brittany Lites, Sarah Sorge, Sandy Gomez, Laura West, Valerie Strange, Julie Hooten, Paul Stephens, and Jennifer Moore. Also surviving her are 18 Great Grandchildren.Celebration of life will be held a Dalton and Son Funeral home on Saturday February 10, at 10:00am.

Anita Maxine Ford Lemons went home to be with the Lord on January 26, 2024, in Wylie, TX. Anita was born in Allen, TX on February 20, 1932, to James Shelby Ford and Alma Lou Young Ford. She graduated from Plano Senior High School in 1947. Anita spent many years working for Johnstons in Wylie, TX as a seamstress. On Sundays, you could find her in the nursery at First Baptist Church Wylie where she was a member for a majority of her life. Anita was a devoted mother and Mamaw/Nana. She was a talented seamstress and cook. Her favorite past time was completing crosswords, especially from the Sunday paper. Her daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the light of her life. Anita will be dearly missed by many. Anita is survived by her daughters, Neta Kay Shellnut and husband, Jack of Edgewood, TX, Brenda Burroughs of The Woodlands, TX, Cheryl Deaton and Tommie Sue Lemons of Wylie, TX, granddaughters, Misty Shellnut and husband, Jason of Edgewood, TX and Morgan Krasniqi and husband, Veton of Wylie, great grandchildren Masen, Cloie, Keaton, Greer, Claire, and Ford. Anita is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Anita was preceded in death by her parents James Shelby and Alma Ford, sisters Dolores Williams and Reta Allen, and grandson Reggie Kyle Onstot. Armella G. Brown, 96, died Saturday, January 20, 2024, at Garnet Hill Nursing Home in Wylie, Texas. She was born February 20, 1927, in Wheatland, Kansas, the daughter of Joseph A. & Germaine Amelia (Leiker) Frank. Armella grew up with her family in Marienthal, Kansas. They later moved to Garden City where Armella attended school and graduated from Garden City High School. She later moved to Sublette, Kansas for a short time before moving to Liberal, Kansas. While in Liberal, Armella worked as a secretary for National Helium. She continued to live in Liberal until 1996 when she moved to Rowlett, Texas where she has lived since. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and she loved to spend her time quilting, gardening, going to the casinos, and spending time with her family. Survivors include two children David & wife Dianna Brown of Puyallup, Washington and Marilyn Schmidt of Rowlett, Texas; two sisters Marcella Ochs of Springfield, Missouri and Charlotte Baier of Garden City, Kansas; five grandchildren Tyson & wife Tobi Schmidt of Rockwall, Texas, Chris & wife Daphne Brown of Hays, Kansas, Shelli & husband Mike Bartnick of Topeka, Kansas, Mindy Knight of Norman, Oklahoma, and Matthew Brown of Manhattan, Kansas; four great-grandchildren Sebastian Schmidt of Royse City, Texas, Hunter Brown of Hays, Kansas, Hayden Brown of Hays, Kansas, & Madison Bartnick of Topeka, Kansas; and two great great-grandchildren Emory Schmidt and Bobbie Jo Schmidt of Royse City, Texas. Armella is preceded in death by her parents; a daughter Jeanette Brown; a son-in-law Sam Collins; three brothers Gilbert Frank, Eddie Frank, & Herman Frank; and four sisters Louise Burgardt, Anna Marie Carter, Lenora Bird, & Martina Roth. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Garden City, with Fr. Jacob Schneider as Celebrant. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City. Visitation hours will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City.
