Woodbridge, VA
Frances L. Lousley, 81, passed away on September 8. She was born in Rochester, New York, and lived most of her life there, but in recent years moved to Woodbridge, Virginia, to live with a niece. Frances was born on April 5, 1942, to Alfred E. Lousley and Sarah B. Lousley. She lived her life devoted to serving her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ after coming to know through John 3:14-15 that His sacrifice was for her personally. Frances served on the mission field in Japan, taught Sunday School in her early years at the now closed York Gospel Hall, and generously supported Bible conferences and small groups of Christians meeting in Gospel Halls across the United States. Her devotion to spreading the gospel and seeing others saved was well-known and when there were gospel meetings or Bible conferences near or far, Frances was known to load up her van with anyone that would attend with her. She would supply the ride, the gas, the food, and the lodging to get a loved one to hear the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ. Frances was a life-long learner. When she was in her younger years and in honor of her Scottish heritage, she learned how to play the bagpipes, she learned how to fly airplanes, and in later years she studied Hebrew to understand the Old Testament Bible in its original language. Frances returned from the mission field of Japan to assist her parents to age in place in their home in Scottsville, New York. She was employed as an Office Manager/Surgery Scheduler to a local orthopedic surgeon for over 30 years. It was through her meticulous attention to detail and office organization skills that his fledgling business became a success. Not only was Frances very patriotic of her own Country and would stand up for the National Anthem and other patriotic songs even in later years as her strength and balance was faltering, but she was a huge fan of Israel, Canada, and Scotland as well. Frances loved to laugh. She took to heart Proverbs 17:22 (A merry heart doeth good like a medicine. . . . ) and loved to hear a good joke, funny story, or life event, and she would laugh for days and with every retelling of it get the same enjoyment as when she heard it the first time. Her smile was sweet and her laughter contagious. Frances was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, Martha Aimond, Alfred Lousley, and Mary Walton. She is survived by her siblings Dorothy Donahue of Byron, New York and Margaret Fischer of Des Plaines, Illinois. Frances was a cherished aunt by nieces and nephews and their children and their grandchildren that are too numerous to list. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. Family and friends are invited to attend services for Frances in both Woodbridge, Virginia and/or Rochester, New York. In Woodbridge, Virginia, Visitation and Memorial services will be held at Mountcastle-Turch Funeral Home from 5:30 p. m. - 7:30 p. m. on Tuesday, September 12, 2023.
