Obituary of Frances Golen Jefferson- Frances M. Golen, 100, of Ashtabula, died on Thursday, January 31, 2019 at Country Club Retirement Center. She was born June 12, 1918 in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of Joseph and Katherine (Szczygiel) Teresk and had been a Jefferson resident most of her life. She was a homemaker who loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a member of St. Joseph Calasanctius Church where she was a member of the Altar Rosary Society. Her survivors include her three sons, Fred (Susan) Golen of Jefferson, James (Josephine) Golen and Ronald (Helen) Golen, both of North Carolina; sister, Lottie Newkirk; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband William T. whom she married September 7, 1940 at St. Andrews Church; brothers, Edward, Stanley, Tony and Walter; sisters, Sophie and Ann Teresk and Betty Stall; and her parents. A mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at St. Joseph Calasanctius Church, 32 E. Jefferson Street, Jefferson, Ohio. Rev. Fr. John Ettinger, Pastor will preside. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery. A visitation hour will be held from 10:30AM until the time of mass at 11 at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John High School.
