"It is with deep sorrow that the Cauthen family announces the death of their beloved mother, Mrs. Frances Moore Cauthen, 86. Mrs. Cauthen entered into rest on Sunday, April 23, 2023. The Directors of Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home are caring for the family. A graveside funeral service to honor her life will be held at 2 o\u0027clock on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at Magnolia Cemetery. The Rev. Michael Bye will officiate, and the family will receive friends at the graveside immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her honor to St. Bartholomew\u0027s Episcopal Church, 103 Campus Drive, Hartsville, SC 29550. Mrs. Cauthen was born on February 2, 1937, in Darlington County, SC. She was the daughter of the late James Nelson Moore and the late Frances Carpenter Moore. She was a member of St. Bartholomew\u0027s Episcopal Church and was a generous and giving person, who donated often to those in need. She worked at Blue Cross Blue Shield as a Sales Representative until her retirement. She was a devoted mother and a loyal caregiver and companion to her family dog, \u0026quot;Nascar. \u0026quot; In her earlier years, she was fond of horses. Her father bought her a horse named \u0026quot;Gold Meade\u0026quot; which she often showed at equestrian competitions, winning countless ribbons and awards for their performances. The highlight of her career was performing at the National Horse Show in Madison Square Gardens. She is survived by her loving children, Robert N. (Karla) Cauthen of Florence, SC, Kelly C. Cauthen of Hartsville, SC, and Jamie C. Wheless of Hartsville, SC; sister, Elizabeth \u0026quot;Bess\u0026quot; (Bobby) Watkins of Hartsville, SC; grandchildren, James Elijah Wheless III, William Avery Wheless, and Sean Cauthen. "
