Floyd "Skeeter" Whitaker, Jr. , 42, of Hamburg, Arkansas, and formerly of Indianola, passed away Friday, April 21, 2023, at Delta Health - The Medical Center in Greenville. Skeeter was born February 9, 1981, in Indianola, to Floyd and Melissa Whitaker. He attended school in Indianola and worked for McClain Farms for many years. Skeeter loved life. He enjoyed cooking on the grill and tattooing. Skeeter meant the world to his family. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Lee and Johnnie Mae Whitaker; paternal grandparents, James and Susie Whitaker; aunt, Margaret Carter; and uncles, Lee Whitaker, Jr. and Aubrey Whitaker. Skeeter is survived by his parents, Floyd and Melissa Whitaker; son, Dalton Whitaker; two brothers, Travis Whitaker and Rickey Whitaker; one sister, Raychel Whitaker all of Hamburg, Arkansas; two granddaughters, Isabella Whitaker and Arianna Whitaker; aunts, Patricia Manseill of Sturgis, Dee Wells of Isola, Brenda Manseill of Isola, Essie Creel of Glen Allen, Mae Raymond of Leland, Patsy Pinion of Leland, Shirley Whitaker of Indianola, Mary Whitaker of Greenville, Jean Whitaker of Greenville; uncle, Rickey Whitaker of Warren, Arkansas; two nephews, Clinton Roberson and Leland Whitaker; close friend, Christopher "C. J. " Cantrell of Greenville; first love, Angel Burnham of Greenville; and other close family, Billy and Denise Miller of Leland and Michael and Chasity Whitaker of Ridgeland. Visitation will be held Monday, April 24, 2023, from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm, at Burton Funeral Home in Indianola. The funeral service will begin at 3:00 pm, with Rev. Pete Roncali officiating.
