Dr. Barry Lieberman

Dr. Barry Lieberman passed away on February 26th at 2 AM at the age of 92 at Community Hospice in Jacksonville, Florida. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Kathyrn, sons, Howard and David, daughter-in-laws, Donna and Tina and grand children, Noah, Ben and Sophia, as well as his younger brother, Leon and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents and sisters Loraine (Henry) Foner and Elaine (Saul) Seif Barry was Born on April 14th 1931, in Jamaica, Queens N.Y. to Lillian and Martin Lieberman. After graduating Jamaica High School, he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting at Syracuse University in 1952, a Masters in Art Education at City College in 1958 and Doctorate in Art Education at NYU in 1980. He spent the majority of his teaching career at Syosset High School, where he taught art, photography and cinematography. He was a tennis coach, year book advisor and also taught at Suffolk Community college and Southhampton College on Long Island NY. After retiring at 60, he and his wife left their long time home of Hauppauge, NY and moved to Phoenix, AZ, Warner Robbins, GA and Jacksonville, FL.He was an excellent painter into his 90s. He also was a photographer and sculptor. His works were displayed in numerous galleries over the years. He enjoyed swimming, played tennis competitively until 80 and practiced Aikido for years. Until less than a year ago, he worked out near daily, in spite of health challenges. Barry was mild mannered, honest, generous and a man of few words. When challenged, he was strong. He was knowledgeable, well read and would converse deeply, if needed. He had a good sense of humor and appreciated music. He exhibited great strength coping with multiple health challenges while caring for the love of his life Kathryn, who he married on February 19th 1954. He often put his famille's needs before his. His passing leaves a void in all who knew him. At his request, there will not be a public service.

Betty June Conklin, age 80, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 17th, at her home in Jacksonville, FL. She was born on April 12, 1943, in Middletown, NY, to Florence B Barker and William A Dalley Jr. Betty was a graduate of Middletown High School in 1961. Betty married Jimmy Conklin, in 1961 and they shared a daughter, Sharon Conklin (Ferguson) in May of 1963. Betty also had a son in April of 1964, Richard Cordner. Betty was a devoted mother and grandmother. She truly lived her life to the fullest through simple pleasures, chatting with friends and family, cooking, traveling, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She shared her cooking and her recipes as a way to bring everyone together and was always the life of the party. She will be remembered for her a strong-will, determination and her ability to take on every challenge that came her way. She was truly a fighter throughout her life. Betty is survived by her sisters, Gale Kimble-Carroll, Pat Dalley (NY) and Mary Sommella, her daughter, Sharon Ferguson (FL), Nieces, Stephanie Bentley (NY), Heather Dalley (NY), Nephews, Duke Kimble, Mark Kimble, Dominic Sommella, Jerry Sommella, BJ Bentley (NY) and Joseph Dalley, a few Great Nephews and Great Nieces, Grandchildren, Danielle Foran, Alyssa Foran, Kevin Foran, Ashley Cordner (Shiver), and Richard Cordner, her Great-Grandchildren, MJ Tauscher, Kaydence Tauscher, Jacob Tauscher, Kevin Foran Jr, Zaiden Albritton and Carter. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Conklin, her brother, Joe A Dalley, her son, Richard Cordner, and her niece, Toniann Caggiano. A visitation for Betty will be held Saturday, March 16, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Hardage-Giddens, Riverside Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM.

Bonnie Rains Kelley, age 74 passed away peacefully on February 27th, 2024 surrounded by loved ones. She is preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Cecelia Rains, son Chad Edenfield and husband Thomas Kelley. Bonnie will be forever loved and remembered by her son Ryan Edenfield (Michele), daughter-in-law Kelly Edenfield, sister Terry Rains, grandchildren Alexis Kidd (Quinton), Chase and Summer Edenfield, great-grandchildren Colton and Hazel Kidd, extended family Steve Edenfield (Ange), along with many beloved nieces, nephews and lifelong friends who have been by her side through all of life’s greatest adventures. As a Jacksonville Florida native and Wolfson High School graduate, she went on to further her education at Brevard Junior College in Cocoa Beach. After returning to Jacksonville, she began her career with CSX and then moved on from there to become owner of National Business Services, a business printing company. Bonnie lived life to the fullest with non-stop social functions, travel, laughter and love, with the center of her universe always being her family and spending as much quality time with them as possible. She was an avid Jaguars football fan who loved being outdoors, whether it be gardening or floating around the family lake with her favorite margarita in her hand and always a smile on her face. Bonnie will be honored with a celebration of life on March 8th at 11:00am in Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin, 11801 San Jose Blvd. Jacksonville FL 32223. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made in her honor to Community Hospice and Palliative Care.
