Florence Raymond Obituary

Florence G . Raymond 1930 - 2023 LEWISTON -- Florence G. Raymond, 93, of Lewiston, passed away peacefully on Friday morning, April 21, 2023 at D'Youville Pavilion. She was born in Lewiston on February 16, 1930 in Lewiston Maine, a daughter of the late Omer and Veronique (Raymond) Labrie. Florence lost her mother when she was 8 years old and was raised by her loving father and older siblings. She was married for 65 years to her loving husband, Bertrand O. Raymond, and together they had and raised five wonderful children. Florence was a lifelong member of St. Louis Church and resided most of her life in the family homestead in New Auburn. She worked at Lown Shoe, Sherwood Heights school, and provided child care for several children over many years. Florence was a loving wife and the best mother any child could ever dream of having. She welcomed everybody into her home at anytime. She was a wonderful cook and was known for her apple pie and chocolate eclairs. Florence is survived by her children Normand Raymond and wife Gloria of Bingham, Paul Raymond of Georgia, Diane Aponte and husband Ralph of Florida, and Denise Quirrion of Lewiston, and her daughter in-law Susan Raymond of Lewiston. She also leaves behind her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, her sister Irene Delorme of Auburn, and sisters-in-law Pearl Routhier of Sabattus, Pauline Toth of Auburn and Judy Labrie of Windham. She was predeceased by her husband Bertrand, her son Gerard Raymond, daughter in-law Kathleen (Whirley) Raymond of Georgia, and her siblings, Robert Labrie, Simone Lemieux, Therese Deschenes, and Raymond Labrie. A Funeral Mass for Florence will take place at St. Philip's Church Wednesday April 26th at 11 AM followed by committal prayers at St. Peter's Cemetery. At her prior request, there is no visitation.
