Florence Z. Hamilton, 64, of Valparaiso, passed away peacefully at 12:15 a.m., Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at Valparaiso Care and Rehabilitation. She was born November 12, 1954, in Des Plaines, IL, to Patrick and Ruth (Ells) O'Donnell. Florence was a homemaker who loved her home and family. She enjoyed fishing and avidly read her bible. Florence will be remembered as one who lived life her way, had a great sense of humor and enjoyed telling jokes. Surviving are two children, Kathleen Cheek and Melissa Hamilton; four sisters, Penny Butler, Kathleen Cafaro, Carol Hutcheison and Mary O'Donnell; three brothers, Mike, Tim and Joe O'Donnell; five grandchildren, Eric, Aaron, Ryan, Jade Miracle and Elliott Cheek; and former husband and father of her children, Gary Hamilton. Preceding in death were her parents; and three brothers, Tom, John and Patrick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at Saint Paul Catholic Church, 1855 Harrison Blvd, Valparaiso with Rev. Douglas Mayer officiating. A visitation and viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso following services.
