"On February 10, 2024, Hoyt M. Garrick, Jr. died at his home in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Mr. Garrick was born in Bogalusa, Louisiana to Hoyt M. Garrick and Juanita Sweeney. He attended BHS where he excelled in track and basketball. Following graduation in 1964, Hoyt attended college at LSU. He was an active member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. As a student, he expanded his interest in songwriting and musical performance. Hoyt briefly moved to Orange County, California with his young family. Following their return to Louisiana, Hoyt continued to develop his talent for songwriting. Throughout the 1970’s, he formed many long-term relationships with musicians and performers from around the world. He sustained those connections until his death. Hoyt first recorded his material at Studio in the Country, built and developed by Bill Evans. In 1978, Louisiana’s LeRoux, released a song titled “New Orleans Ladies”. The song, written about his wife, quickly advanced on the Billboard Music charts and became a regional hit. Gambit named it the best New Orleans song of the Twentieth Century. Countless artist have performed his work over the last fifty years. He particularly enjoyed working with Clarence “Gatemouth” Brown. They maintained a deeply respectful personal and professional relationship until Gate’s passing. Honoring his musical achievements, Hoyt was inducted into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame in 2018. Hoyt was preceded in death by his parents, Hoyt and Juanita Garrick, and a sister, Linda G. Greene. He is survived by his son, daughter-in-law, and daughter; Russell Shay and Michelle Susan Garrick of Harrisburg, PA, and Kasey L. Garrick of Carriere, MS. Further, Hoyt is survived by his sister, Elizabeth “Becky” Garrick of Bowling Green, KY; three nephews, Shayne Greene, Cade and Tanner Perry; and grandsons, Zaiden, Zayne, and Finley."

D'Ontae attended the following schools: Hosanna Christian Academy, Kenilworth Science & Technology Academy, McKinley High and later graduated from Second Chance Academy. In his early years he played BREC football with the Rams and Seahawks. While at Kenilworth, D'Ontae participated in basketball and football. He was also selected as the Homecoming King in eighth grade. He had a heart for family and friends and a passion for song writing and rapping. He had plans of getting his CDL and becoming a truck driver. Keith was born on Sunday, November 26, 1961 in Miami, FL. and passed away Thursday, February 29, 2024 in Baton Rouge. He was a life long resident of Acme, LA. Keith was a dedicated millwright and proud member of the 1192 Millwright Union. For 25 years, he lent his skills and expertise to Siemens, leaving an indelible mark on the industry. Beyond the confines of the workplace, he was a devoted family man and an avid outdoorsman. Keith's heart belonged to his family, and the joy he found in the company of his grandchildren and friends was unparalleled. A passionate hunter and fisherman, he was at home in the beauty of nature. His legacy is not only etched in the machinery he expertly maintained but also in the memories of shared laughter during hunting trips and quiet moments by the water. Keith will be remembered for his unwavering dedication, warm spirit, and the love he shared with those fortunate enough to be part of his life. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, friendship, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys found in the great outdoors. He was preceded in death by his wife, Debbi Hamilton, mother, Bonita Hamilton, and his niece, Kayla Hamilton. He pursued education diligently and earned a bachelor's degree in Journalism from Louisiana State University in 1987. Throughout his life, Flavio had an insatiable thirst for knowledge and was always eager to learn new things.Flavio will be remembered for his kind and compassionate nature. He had a heart of gold and went out of his way to ensure the well-being of those around him. His infectious sense of humor brought joy to many, and his ability to lighten the mood was truly remarkable.In his free time, Flavio enjoyed watching LSU football on Saturdays and cheering for the Saints on Sundays. His love for sports was only surpassed by his love for spending quality time with his children. Family meant everything to Flavio, and he took great pride in teaching his children valuable life lessons, including passing down the secret recipe for his famous cornbread dressing during the holidays.Aside from sports and family time, Flavio had a diverse set of interests. He was passionate about fitness and dedicated himself to helping others achieve their health goals. On the dance floor, he shined with his love for salsa dancing while being serenaded by great music. In the kitchen, Flavio showcased his culinary skills by creating delicious meals and imparting his cooking wisdom to his children.Flavio is survived by his loving children Adrian Manrique and Isabella Manrique. He is predeceased by his dear mother Sonia Cotto Manrique, father Jose Manrique, and brother David Manrique.
