On Thursday, August 31st, 2023 Faye Ginn Bishop passed away peacefully at her home, at the age of 81 with family by her side. Faye was born in Long Island, Alabama on October 23rd, 1941. She grew up in Anniston Alabama. Graduated from Anniston High School Class of 1960. She attended Baptist Bible Institute Graceville, Florida. She was married to David Riley Bishop March 18, 1961. They resided in Tuscaloosa until 1973, when they moved their family to Dothan Alabama, where she was a pastor's wife at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Pansey, Alabama. While there Faye was also an employee of the Slingluff Insurance agency in Dothan. In 1980 they moved to Chilton County where they served Mulberry Baptist Church for 26 ears and Macedonia Baptist for 10 years. Faye was a retired secretary from Isabella High School where her official title for over 20 years was the school secretary, but where she also served as a counselor, administrator, parent liaison, cheerleader, and therapist for the entire Isabella community. Faye was loved by everyone. She was devoted to her husband, kids, and especially her four grandchildren. She loved cooking for people, especially desserts! If you were in her circle, you have experienced her lemon squares, strawberry balls and /or double doozies. Surviving is her husband, Reverend David Bishop, son David (Crish), daughter Pamela Bishop Smith (Andrew), grandchildren Emily Smith Tetstone (Alec), Zach Smith (Anna), Hannah Bishop Ellison (Colton) and Trenton Bishop. Six Great Grand Children. Two Sisters, Lois McAnnally & Joan Daugherty and Brother, Wayne Ginn (Frankie). She was proceeded in death by her parents, James Hubbard Gin and Ruby Hicks Gin and brother, Jimmy Ginn. Friends will be received Sunday, September 3, 2023, from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm at Mulberry Baptist Church. Services will be held Sunday, September 3, 2023, at 3:30 pm. at Mulberry Baptist Church with Rev. Andy Mims and Rev. Gary Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Mulberry Baptist Cemetery, Maplesville, Alabama. Martin Funeral Home directing.
