Everett Delong Obituary

Everett DeLong, 81, of Grayson, passed away Monday Morning, May 8, 2023 at Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland. Mr. DeLong was born March 9, 1942 in Lucasville, OH, a son of the late Ellis and Marjorie Hall DeLong. In addition to his parents, a brother Robert DeLong an infant brother Charles DeLong and a daughter-in-law Corina Adkins DeLong also preceded him in death. Everett received his certification in welding from the Ashland Vocational School and was a welder and fabricator by trade. He owned and operated DeLong Welding in Summit for many years. His generosity to the community has helped with many churches and different organizations throughout the area receive help in the way of metal ramps, aluminum crosses or other forms of metal fabrication. He also served as a driver for Boy Scout Troop #112 and was of the Baptist Faith. Most importantly to him was being a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be deeply missed by his family and all whom had the honor to have known him. Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife Eldora Kinnison DeLong of Grayson, his son Ellis DeLong (Tracey Kelley), his daughter Ellen DeLong Taylor (Tommy Dwayne Taylor) a sister Shirley Boggs (Ray) of Xenia, OH, grandsons Erik DeLong, Travis Taylor (Elizabeth), Austin Taylor and a host of extended family and friends. Funeral services will be held 11:00am Friday, May 12, 2023 at the Steen Funeral Home 13th Street Chapel by Pastor Jason Plummer. Burial will be in the Lucasville Cemetery in Lucasville, OH. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6-8 pm and Friday morning from 10:00am till service at the funeral home.
