Evelyn Houlne Obituary

Evelyn Houlne, 85 of North Aurora passed away April 22, 2023 at home with her "best daughters ever" Susan Reichardt (Bob Reichardt) and Tyra Houlne (Andrea Hausser) at her bedside. Evelyn had an immense love and open arms for her grandchildren, Ryan and Megan Reichardt. Evelyn's endless love included Ann and Gary Bohr and their children Jessica, Missi, and Ali who called her "Grandma" and "Great-Grandma" to Madison, Levi, and Sara. In her last days before passing she welcomed and appreciated being surrounded with love, laughter, and warmth from family and close friends. Evie, as she was affectionately known, was adored by all. She was always smiling, had a tender heart, and enjoyed making others laugh. Something about her pulled people in, made them feel special, and close to her. She had a gift of connecting to people and listened with an open heart. Even after just short periods of time, people would feel like her close friend, sister, child, or grandchild. . Evie enjoyed a good competitive card game or a wild game of "Aggravation". Her many talents included arts and crafts, cake decorating, painting, and flower arranging. She was always up for new adventures, road tripping with her daughters or dearest friends, shopping, and trying new foods. This led to great storytelling, complete with hand gestures, sound effects and often exaggerations. She will be missed dearly by all who knew her. Family will be receiving guests Wednesday April 26, 2023 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church 801 S. Oak Street, North Aurora from 9am until time of Mass at 11am. Burial will be private.
