Evelyn Alice Hausrath, 90, of Mt. Savage, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 10, 2023. Born on August 10, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Homer A. and Gladys M. (Machin) Black. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Alice Frank. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Millard E. "Gene" Hausrath, daughters; Susan D. Brady and husband Ralph, Nancy A. Hausrath and husband Christopher Llewellyn, Carol L. "Kiddle" Robison and husband James, grandchildren; Madyson "Delilah", Travis and wife Amber, Timothy, Don, Katie, great-grandchildren; Noah, Silas, sister; Ruth Norris and her children, Karen, Mary, Tom, who were especially close with her. She was a beautician up until her children were born and made the decision to stay home and care for them. Later in life she went to work for the Board of Education until retirement. Evelyn was a lifelong member of St. George Episcopal Church. Family and friends will be received at St. George Episcopal Church, 12811 St. George Lane, Mt. Savage, MD 21545 on Wednesday, September 13, from 11 AM to 12 PM. Funeral Service will follow at 12 PM with Father John Martin Officiating. Interment will be in St. George's Episcopal Cemetery. In leu of flowers, donations can be made to St. George Episcopal Church.

Kenneth Leo Kennell, 92, of Mt. Savage passed away at his home on Saturday, December 2, 2023. Born on October 20, 1931 to the late Leo Kennell and Clara (Beal). In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Esther Kennell; sister, Madeline Housel; brother, Earl James "Jim" Kennell. As a young man, Ken worked at the Mt. Savage brick yard and the clay mines. He was later employed at the Kelly-Springfield Tire Co. which he retired from and went on to drive a school bus for the Allegany County BOE. Ken loved Bluegrass music and was a very talented musician, being able to play multiple instruments. He was a family man and played an important role in his children's and grandchildren's lives. He loved to tell stories, especially about his youth. In his later years, he enjoyed going to lunch with his old friends from the Kelly and visiting his friends and family. He remained very active and at the age of 91 was still working outside and stacking wood. Surviving are his son, Roger Lee Kennell and wife Rickie; daughter, Debbie Wotring and husband Blaine; grandchildren, Jennifer Helmstetter and husband Mike, Ryan Kennell and wife Nora; great grandchildren, Sarah Bryan and husband Brandon, Emily Helmstetter, Hannah Kennell, Madison Grimm, and Abby Kennell; two great great grandchildren, Aden and Brynne Bryan. Family and friends will be received at Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Avenue, Frostburg, MD on Friday, December 8, 2023 from 2-4 P. M. and 7-9 P. M. Funeral service will be held at Durst Funeral Home on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at 11 A. M. with a visitation starting at 10 A. M. Rev. Harry Burchel will officiate the service. Martha Ann Burdock, 80, passed away on November 18th, 2023, in Westminster, MD, at the home of her daughter, Laurie Burdock. Martha was an animal lover, from horses to her beloved dog Chloe, she loved all creatures big and small, and enthusiastic photographer, always capturing memories for her family to treasure. Born on April 22nd, 1943 in Dubois, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Mary Lou and Paul Coleman. In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Jim Burdock, and her brother Eugene Coleman. Surviving are her children; daughter, Rhonda Parsons, her husband John Parsons, son Rick Burdock, daughter Laurie Burdock, her partner Janelle Creighton, and son Randy Burdock; her grandchildren, Jesse, his wife Teann, Megan, Cody, his wife Bethany, Taylor, Hunter, and her wife Rachel; her great grandchildren, whom she spoiled and adored, Wally, Nathaniel, Joelle, Natalie, Levi, Scarlett, Malachi, and Elijah; her sister, Mary Minnick; her nieces and nephews, Cinda, Cheryl, Mark, Pam, Paul, Serena, Kelly, Josh, Jack, Jennifer, Tanya, Todd, Terrell, Tara, Dana, Serena, Jerry, Wendy, Daniel, Roxie, and David – and a community she loved dearly.
