"Evelyn \u0026quot;Elb\u0026quot; Ann Dukes was a caring wife, mother, Grandmother, sister and friend. She was born on October 5, 1956. She earned her wings and left this world suddenly on Saturday on April 15, 2023 at age 66. She was born to Albert Lester Tate (Deceased) and Elizabeth Williams (Deceased on October 5, 1956 in Carthage, Mississippi. After graduating from Carthage High School she attended East Central Junior Collage where she met her husband Gary L. Dukes. After graduating from ECJC she joined Gary in Marquette Michigan, married in October 15, 1977 and spent the next 22 years traveling the country from military base to military base and finally settling in Madison for the last 20 years. During the 45 years of marriage together they had three children Gary, Sakari, and Alisha and two grandsons, Noah and Alijah. Evelyn is survived by her immediate family, Jodie Alexander, Jackerline Kemp, Mary Hall, Johnnie Tate and Tira Henry. Her sister Janis Stewart and brother Jimmy Albert Tate proceeded her in death. Evelyn loved spending time in the kitchen, creating delicious meals for the family. She equally enjoyed spending time with her sisters and brothers in person along with those daily extended conversation with her younger sister Mary. Evelyn truly enjoyed assisting family members achieve personal goals. Evelyn life would seem too short to many, but those of us who were Blessed to be touched by her understand that her existence and the imprint she left on our hearts exceed the quantity of time that she stayed here.
