Evelia nacio en Jalisco, Mexico. Era hija de Guadalupe Nunez y Agraciana Meza. Era hermana de Jose, +Carlos, Luis, +Elena, Maria Concepcion y Alicia. Le sobreviven sus hijos: Jose Guadalupe, Alioncio, Silvia, Imelda, Carlos, Ramiro, Oscar y Leticia. Tambien deja 11 nietos y 10 bisnietos. Evelia amaba a su familia por encima de todo y dedico cada momento de su vida para darles lo mejor, animandolos y apoyandolos en sus momentos de necesidad y alegria. Tambien le encantaba cocinar, cuidar su jardin e ir a los casinos. Aunque nunca aprendio a conducir, estaba decidida a llegar a donde necesitaba y siempre encontraba la manera de lograr las metas que se proponia. Era una mujer humilde que cuidaba de su finca, hacia tortillas, cosia, lavaba y planchaba ropa a mano para ganarse la vida antes de venir a Estados Unidos. Era una mujer tan trabajadora que comenzo a trabajar inmediatamente el dia despues de inmigrar en 1968 y no paro hasta el 2015. Trabajo en muchos trabajos agricolas y fue soteadora de tomates en Tri Valley Growers y San Benito Foods. Asimismo, era conocida por no faltar ni un dia al trabajo y ayudar a otros a encontrar empleo por si mismos. Mantenia a su familia y preparaba todas las comidas desde cero, incluyendo sus famosas tortillas de harina. A pesar de enfrentar sus propias dificultades, la generosidad de Evelia se extendio mas alla de su hogar. Era conocida por albergar y alimentar a muchos en momentos de necesidad. Fue madre adoptiva y abuela de muchos y siempre dono lo poco que tenia a los menos afortunados. Evelia Nunez de Ramos llevo una vida ejemplar, llena de amor y perdon. Ahora ha terminado su viaje en este mundo para descansar en paz. Que disfrute en la casa del Senor al lado de sus seres queridos que la han precedido. Extranaremos mucho a Evelia, pero siempre la recordaremos. Evelia Nunez de Ramos *February 16, 1940 - +September 1, 2023 Evelia was born in Jalisco, Mexico. She was the daughter of Guadalupe Nunez and Agraciana Meza. She was the sister of Jose, +Carlos, Luis, +Elena, Maria Concepcion, and Alicia. She is survived by her children: Jose Guadalupe, Alioncio, Silvia, Imelda, Carlos, Ramiro, Oscar, and Leticia. She also leaves behind 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Evelia loved her family above all else and dedicated every moment of her life to give them the best she could, encouraging and supporting them in their time of need and joy. She also loved cooking, caring for her garden, and taking trips to the casinos. Although she never learned to drive, she was determined to get where she needed to and always found a way to achieve the goals she set for herself. She was a humble woman who tended to her farm, made tortillas, and sewed, washed, and ironed clothes by hand in order to make a living before coming to the United States. She was such an industrious woman that she began working immediately the day after she immigrated in 1968 and did not stop until 2015. She worked many agricultural jobs and was a tomato sorter at Tri Valley Growers and San Benito Foods. Likewise, she was known for not missing a day of work and helping others find employment for themselves. She provided for her family and made every meal from scratch- including her famous flour tortillas. Despite facing her own difficulties, Evelia's generosity extended beyond her home. She was known for housing and feeding many in their time of need. She was an adoptive mother and grandmother to many and always donated what little extra she had to those less fortunate. Evelia Nunez de Ramos led an exemplary life full of love and forgiveness. She has now finished her journey in this world to rest peacefully. May she rejoice in the house of the Lord and her loved ones who have gone before her. Evelia will be greatly missed but always remembered.

Jaclyn Elizabeth Quintana of Hollister, CA entered eternal rest on November 28, 2023 in San Jose, CA. Her spirit now lives for all eternity. She takes with her every bit of love and positive energy that was poured into her earthly life. She has returned to the stardust from which she came. Our beautiful, beloved Jaclyn was born on May 19, 1995 in Gilroy, CA to proud parents Orlando and Sandra Quintana. Her loving brothers Drew and Devin say she looked like a beautiful pink rose as a new born baby. From 3 years old to her sophomore year in high school, Jaclyn danced with her whole heart and her signature spunk. She developed deep bonds with her dance team and competed in countless competitions. She went to high school at San Benito High and graduated in 2013. She continued her education at both Cabrillo and Gavilan colleges, and obtained her Cosmetology license in 2019. She loved styling hair and took great joy in all things related to sparkle and beauty. She was a free spirit who felt her feelings deeply and always left room in her heart for deep compassion and empathy for others. In her eyes, there was a sense of awe and wonder of the world around her. Her smile showed all the open space that she had inside to hear others stories and she took great delight in it. Jaclyn never judged anyone's path or journey because she believed all paths lead to the light. Above all else, Jaclyn loved her family the most and Hollister always remained home for her. A devoted daddy's girl and loyal niner fan, she cherished every moment of togetherness on family camping trips, football games and birthday gatherings. Her mommy has been and always will be her fiercest champion and most loving supporter. There are not words to capture the depth of Jaclyn's love for us and the depth of our love for her. Her laugh, her heart and her humongous hugs will be forever missed. Jaclyn is giving as generously in death as she gave in life. As an organ and tissue donor, she lives on in legacy through the selfless act of giving the gift of life to others. She is survived by her devoted parents Orlando and Sandy Quintana, her loving brothers Drew and Devin, sister in love Ellie, precious nephews Kade, Cruz and Jay, Grandparents Dolores Bravo ("Grandma Dee"), Homer Rivera, and Lydia Gonzales, many dear aunties, uncles, cherished cousins and countless friends. She is preceded in death by her Grandpa Nano and Grandpa Abraham. Thank you Jaclyn for bringing so much love and light into our lives and for breaking our hearts wide open so that we can all learn to love deeper, wider and with forgiveness for all. A scholarship program for young adults struggling with substance use disorder will be developed in Jaclyn's name. It is with a heavy heart and great sadness that our family announces the passing of our beloved mother Rosa Maria (Rosita) Martinez, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She passed away peacefully on Thanksgiving Day at the age of 95. She was born on January 12, 1928, in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, Mexico. She was a woman of boundless love and devotion, dedicated to our family above all else. She shared a beautiful life with our father, Lorenzo Alvarez Martinez (RIP September 21, 2022), and together they built a strong foundation of love and unity that continues to inspire. She was not only a loving mother but also a guiding light in our lives, teaching our family the values of compassion, resilience, and unwavering love. As a grandmother and great-grandmother, her nurturing spirit knew no bounds. Her wisdom, kindness, and warm embrace provided a haven of love and support for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will carry her memory forward with love and admiration. Our mother touched the lives of many with her genuine warmth. Her legacy is not only defined by her love for our family but also by the countless lives she touched with her kindness and generosity. She will forever be remembered for her unwavering love, her radiant smile, and her profound impact on all who were fortunate enough to know her. May her soul rest in eternal peace, and may her memory continue to bring comfort and strength to our family during this time of loss. Roysten Alwyn Lewis Jr. passed away on November 9 th in his sleep in Hollister, California, at the age of 86. He was the son of Roysten Alwyn Lewis and Viola May Lewis. Roy was born in San Jose, California on July 12, 1937. He grew up on the family ranch in Paicines and attended Willow Grove School and San Benito High School. Roy attended Chico State College and then served with the United States National Guard. He spent numerous days and hours working on the ranch while he was attending school and later as he continued his career as an appraiser. Roy was very proud of his job as an appraiser, which he held for 37 years in the County Assessor's office. Roy especially loved the days when he was working and appraising the land in south San Benito County. Roy had two surviving siblings, Vernon Lewis, of Santa Barbara, and Leona Lewis, of Paicines. He was married to Carole Lewis and they had just recently celebrated their 47 th wedding anniversary. Roy and Carole raised two children, Kristin Lewis residing in Richmond, California, and Ryan Lewis residing in Portland, Oregon. The family will be having a private remembrance at the ranch in Paicines at a later time. Celia Villarreal 93, passed away peacefully on November 13, 2023. Born on January 13, 1930, in Los Angeles, CA, Celia was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, and cherished friend. Celia moved to Laguna Grande, Zacatecas when she was young and grew up over there but later returned to live in Hollister, CA, started her family and raised her 6 children here. At a young age she worked in the fields but after, she dedicated her life to being a homemaker and taking care of her family. She was a hardworking woman who never gave up and always worked hard for what her family needed. Celia loved spending time gardening and with her animals. She also loved to crochet and spend time with family and friends or talk on the phone with family and friends that did not live near her. Those who knew her know that she was the most selfless and kind hearted person. She always worried about everyone but herself, even until the very end. Celia was preceded in death by her father (Placido Villarreal), mother (Blasa Delanda), husband (Isidoro Villarreal), daughter (Irma Villarreal), daughter in law (Esmeralda Cisneros), son in law (Refugio Cabral), and sisters (Consuelo Espinoza & Piedad Villarreal). She is survived by her sons, daughters, and their spouses, Fernando Villarreal, Blasa Villarreal, Reynaldo (Esther) Villarreal, Antonio Ramirez, Antonia (Eliceo) Rios, Isidoro Villarreal, many grand children, great grand children, and nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed by her children, grand children, and all who knew her.Show more
