Eva Cunagin Obituary

Eva Frye Cunagin, age 86, of El Dorado, Arkansas passed away on Monday, May 8, 2023, at Hudson Memorial Nursing Home while being surrounded by loved ones, including Hudson staff members. Eva was born in Harlan, KY on May 1, 1937, and raised as a proud coal miner's daughter of Birchel and Jessie Logsdon Frye. After graduating from high school and while living in Louisville, KY, Eva met and married the love of her life, Ike. With great pride and accomplishment, Eva continued her education by graduating from banking school in the 1950's. She also worked in accounting at Lion Oil for over 20 years. Eva was a member of Parkers Chapel First Baptist Church, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Desk & Derrick Club of El Dorado. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ike Cunagin and two brothers, Robert and Charles Frye. Survivors include two daughters, Beth Choat (Ron) of El Dorado and Anne Christie (Anthony) of El Dorado and a son Scott Cunagin (Becky) of Harrison; grandchildren, Jessica Warden (Jess). Lauren Ammons, Nicole Bergeron, Austin Roton (Maddie), Ryan Roton (Ciarra) and Hunter Meeks and great-grandchildren, Hayden, Draylen, Xander, Jack, Kayson, Julianna, Eva, Sophia, Greyson and Kaiden. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p. m. , Wednesday, May 10, 2023 in Young's Chapel with Rev. Larry Hudson officiating. Burial will follow at Arlington Memorial Park under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors. Visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 p. m. prior to the service.
