Eula Bell Self Fowler, Ninety-Two Years Loved March 22, 1931-October 5, 2023 Eula Bell Fowler was loved for 92 years, 6 months, 13 days, and a few hours before she took her last breath and joined her husband, Ted Fowler, in the arms of Jesus. The family will receive friends from 6pm to 8pm, Monday, October 9, 2023 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held at 10am, Tuesday, October 9, 2023 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park. Eula Bell Self was first loved when she was born on March 22, 1931, to Oscar and Ola Self in Clovis, New Mexico. She was the second child of eight-five brothers and two sisters. When she was a couple of years old, her family moved to Texas and finally landed in Coahoma. She was adored by her brothers and sisters as they grew up in a large, loud, loving family. Bell attended Coahoma schools and graduated in 1949 and was loved by her classmates and friends. After high school, she worked for the local telephone company. Bell was loved by callers when they heard her sweet voice saying, "Number please?" On March 20, 1953 she married Teddy Joe Fowler in the house that he built for them in Coahoma. They lived in this home together for 64 years until Jesus called Ted home and then she continued to live there until she took her last breath last Thursday. They raised two children there, Dietra and Joe. Eula Bell also worked for several years at Coahoma Elementary School as the library aid. She loved her students and they loved to have her read to them when they visited the library. She was a member of the Mary Jane Club that was involved in many community service projects and she served as an officer several times over the years. Bell also served as a Brownie Girl Scout leader with Donnell Luce when their daughters were in Elementary School. For many years she served as a Sunday School teacher in the Beginner Class at First Baptist Church of Coahoma. Bell, alongside Ted, served on the Coahoma High School Alumni Committee and enjoyed all the parades and alumni class get-togethers. Eula Bell and Ted loved to travel and made trips across the US, much of Canada, Puerto Rico, Haiti, Acapulco, and other places in Mexico. For many years, the Fowlers owned and operated Fowler's Texaco which became Fowler's Service and remains such after selling the business to their son, Joe. They both continued to work at the station with Joe until health prevented them from doing it. They both loved visiting with customers and you could always find Eula Bell sitting behind the desk with a big smile on her face. In March 2021, granddaughters K'Leigh Baker and Stephanie Ferguson threw a surprise 90th birthday party for their Grannie Bell at the Coahoma Community Center. Bell thought she was going on a date with Great Grandson, Boone, and was surprised by the many friends and family that were able to come. She was so excited to have received 90+ birthday cards and letters and loved watching the video of the livestream for those that could not attend in person. She knew how much she was loved by all for NINETY years! Bell was preceded in death by her loving husband, Teddy Joe Fowler; her parents, Oscar and Ola Self; brothers, Clyde Everett, Myron Lee, Robert aka "Bob or Snuffy", Weldon "Squeaky", and Johnny Mac Self. She is survived by her two sisters, Dorothy Rucker of Houston, Carolyn Holley of Greenville, and sister-in-law, Sandy Self of Amarillo. She is also survived by her children, Dietra Fowler Tutle and husband, Gene, of San Angelo, Joe Fowler and wife, Cindy, of Coahoma. Grandchildren include-Stephanie (Craig) Ferguson of Coahoma, Scott (Krystal) Tutle of Coahoma, and Chad (Kindra) Tutle of Eldorado. K'Ja (Erik) West of Austin, Tyler (Becky) Fowler of Burleson, K'Leigh (Tye) Baker of Forsan, Matt Young (Travis Cash) of Lake Ozark, Missouri, and Megan Cooper of Lubbock. When you live 92 years, you also get the privilege of knowing your great-grandchildren and Eula Bell ADORED all of hers. Her great-grandchildren are Aaron Ferguson, Ashley (Zach) Holmes, Nicholas and Jackson Tutle, Landrie and Parker Tutle, Gracie and Olivia West, Boone and Boudreaux Baker, Haley Cash, Hunter Tindol, Haylie Cooper, and Hadlee Cooper. Bell was very excited and already telling everyone that she was getting another GREAT one around Thanksgiving. She is also survived by a multitude of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Eula Bell showed us all how to give unconditional love. John 13:34 says "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.
