Captain Eugene Carol Arnold, 88, of Clinton Township, New Jersey, passed away peacefully Oct. 9, 2023, after a long battle with dementia. He was an avid pool player and bowler. Rocco is the beloved son of Virginia and to the late Giuseppe Sarni; cherished brother of Clarence and Frank; treasured uncle of Sophia. Cathryn T. Brunt, age 89 years, of Franklin Township, NJ, passed away on Monday, January 22, 2024, at the Rolling Hills Care Center, Clinton Township, NJ.Born in Flemington, NJ, February 28, 1934, she was the daughter of the late John and Pauline (Farr) Tinnes. She had lived in Hunterdon County, NJ her entire life.She was formerly employed as a secretary for The Herdman Agency, Bohren and Bohren Associates Inc., and finally the Flemington National Bank & Trust Company, all of Flemington, NJ.Cathryn was a long-time, active member of the Cherryville Baptist Church, Cherryville, NJ and loved attending and helping with the many church activities over the years. In addition, she was an avid reader and enjoyed playing computer solitaire and mahjong.She will be remembered as a good wife and loving mother, who would help anybody at any time.In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, the late Kenneth J. Brunt, Sr., who died in 1994.Surviving are her son, Jeffrey B. Brunt of Frenchtown, NJ; grandsons, Justin Brunt of Bloomsburg, PA and Jason Brunt of Quakertown, NJ; her sister, Pauline Caldwell of Bridgewater, NJ; her niece, Paula Gyuro of Cincinnati, OH; as well as several extended family members.Funeral services will take place, Thursday, January 25, 2024, at 11:00 AM in the Cherryville Baptist Church, 594 Cherryville Road, Flemington, NJ 08822. Captain Eugene Carol Arnold, 88, of Clinton Township, New Jersey, passed away peacefully Oct. 9, 2023, after a long battle with dementia. Gene is survived by his wife of more than 55 years, Lynn; daughter Jennifer and her husband Adrian; daughter Suzanne and her children, Charlie and Cameron; and son Paul, his wife, Elizabeth, and their children, Graeme and Elle. He is also survived by two sisters, Edie and Rita; 28 nieces and nephews; a grandcat, Tatiana; and two granddogs, Baxter and Beatrix. He was predeceased by his parents, Paul and Edith Arnold, and five brothers and sisters. Gene was born Oct. 31, 1934, in Memphis, Tennessee. After graduating from Catholic boys' high school in Memphis, Gene attended Memphis State University with an ROTC Commission. He joined the Air Force and served six years active duty as a bomber and cargo aircraft pilot and four years in the reserves. He then flew for Eastern Airlines until his retirement as a captain in 1990, and he continued working for many years thereafter as an independent sales representative for a N. J. -based engineering company. In 1968, Gene and Lynn moved to Dogwood Farm in Clinton Township. For five decades, Gene was an avid gardener and steward of his land. He raised ringneck pheasants, goats, chickens and sheep on his property and delighted in planting specimen trees of all sorts across the acres, usually with his English springer spaniels by his side. One of his biggest pleasures was bringing orphaned lambs to nursery schools throughout the county so the children could bottle feed them. They would arrive with "Farmer Arnold" in specially fitted Pampers! In addition to being a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, Gene was an active member of the community, volunteering his time on the board of the YMCA and as a member of North Hunterdon Rotary and the Holy Name Society at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church. A mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday, Oct. 28, at 10 AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 316 Old Allerton Rd. , Annandale, NJ, 08801. Obituary of Richard Kings Ney Richard Kings Ney, 90, of Clinton Township, New Jersey passed away on June 21, 2021 from natural causes. Richard was born to Christopher J. and Elsie (Briggs) Ney in Waterbury, Connecticut on September 28, 1930. He was raised in Torrington, Connecticut, where he graduated from Torrington High School with the highest PSA grade in his senior class. After high school, his service in the United States Army Signal Corps included a posting with the 9473 Radar Surveillance Unit on Mount Schneeburg in Bavaria, Germany in 1953. He then attended the University of Connecticut, graduating with a degree in Business Administration. He spent his working career with Federal Products Corporation of Providence, Rhode Island, a manufacturer of precision dimensional gauges including computer statistical gauging systems. He was manager of the company's New York-area sales office when he retired in 1985. In his retirement years, Richard enjoyed travel. Many of his trips were either with or to visit family, including to beloved Chatham, Cape Cod. He filled lots of days singing with local New Jersey groups such as The Silver Bells and Beaus and The Hunterdon Harmonizers. Additionally, Richard was an avid reader and supporter of the Hunterdon County Library. He never tired of researching and learning about the Civil War, Big Band Music, Broadway musicals, and Academy Award-nominated movies. He faithfully cheered for all teams Boston - Red Sox, Patriots, Celtics, and Bruins, as well as his beloved UConn Huskies across all sports. Richard is survived by his son Richard John Ney of Norton, Massachusetts, daughter Patricia (Ney) Caruso and her husband Robert of East Amherst, New York, and son Peter Ney and his wife Stephanie Steele of Austin, Texas. He is also survived by much-loved grandsons John Liolos, Cameron Caruso, Tyler, Cooper, and Parker Ney; niece Debbie Teti of Torrington, Connecticut; grand-nephews Scott Teti, and Steve Teti and his wife Amanda and their children, Natalie and David. Obituary of Angela Karkoska Angela (nee Zajac) Karkoska, age 100, of Clinton Township, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at home. Born on Februaury 29, 1920 in Poland, Angela was the daughter of the late Vincent Zajac and Maria (nee Bukowska) Zajac. Angela was raised in Czechoslovakia in the town of Jurkova Vol'a, before emigrating to Australia. She moved her family to the United States in 1968 and reunited with many brothers and sisters. A talented seamstress, Angela had a passion for gardening and loved to tend to her rose bushes. She was a proud and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and great great-grandmother. Angela is survived by her son, John Karkoska and his wife Debra Coleman; daughter, Miluska Buryta; grandchildren, Irene Kiner and her husband Scott, Richard Buryta, Jennifer Karkoska and her husband Merv Steinberg, and Michael Karkoska; great-grandchildren, Kevin Kiner and wife Warisa, Kyle Kiner and his wife Makenzie; great great-grandchildren, Ella Suzanne Kiner, and Colton Lloyd Kiner. Angela was predeceased by her ten siblings. A graveside service will be held on Saturday August 8th at 11:00 am at St. Bernard Cemetery in Bridgewater.
