Cline, 62, of McCluskey Ave, passed away Saturday morning, February 24, 2024 at Champlain Valley Physician’s Hospital surrounded by her loving family.Dorianne was born on December 23, 1961 in Massena, the daughter of the late Ralph and Marion (Mitchell) Cline and was a graduate of St. Lawrence Central School. She worked for a short time as a Certified Nurse’s Aide. She enjoyed reading, gardening, listening to music, crafting, going on adventures and spending time with her sisters. Dorianne is survived by her children, Brandon (Jessica) Cochrane of Bombay and Mallory Cochrane of Massena; and their father, Robert Cochrane; her grandchildren, Myles and Gavin Hollinger, Andie and Jessa Enslow, and Brayden and Lavinia Cochrane; her sisters, Diane Cline of Massena, Darcy Cline of Rhode Island; her brothers, Drue (Janet) Cline of Ogdensburg and Dana Cline of Massena; her sister-in-laws, Valerie Cline of Brasher Falls and Mary Cline of Rhode Island; her lifelong friends, Richard Vinette, Erin VanOpdurp, and Beatrice Arquette; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a granddaughter, Khyeli Hollinger; her siblings, David, Dennis, Deborah, Darren, and Tracy Cline. MASSENA – Penny M. Wickwire, 69, of Grassmere Terrace, passed away Sunday afternoon, February 18, 2024 at Massena Hospital after a brief illness. Penny was born in Ogdensburg on January 19, 1955, the daughter of the late Betty Kiah. A marriage to Frank Smith blessed her with two sons, Jeffrey and Jason. Frank predeceased her and she later married Charles Wickwire, who also predeceased her. Penny was a bartender at various local restaurants and bars, most recently at the Rusty Wheel. She was a member of the Massena Senior Citizens and enjoyed playing games on her phone, doing diamond art, and enjoyed visiting with friends at Grassmere. Penny is survived by her loving son, Jason and her friends at Grassmere Terrace.In addition to her mother, she was sadly predeceased by her son Jeffrey on July 14, 2000. Arrangements are under the care and guidance of the Donaldson Funeral Home, Massena, however there will be no services. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

MASSENA – Terry A. Knepp, 53, of County Route 46, unexpectedly passed away Sunday evening, February 18, 2024 at Massena Hospital. Terry was born on June 6, 1970 in Springfield, Massachusetts, the daughter of the late Raymond and Sharon (Charland) Gravel. She grew up in Massena and attended Massena schools. She was first married to Gary White on September 22, 1989, their marriage later ended in divorce in 2007. On February 14, 2008, she married Robert T. Knepp, Jr. in Massena. Terry was currently a clerical worker at Linens Depot Direct in Massena. She previously proudly supported her community as an EMT with Massena Rescue Squad and Akwesasne Mohawk Ambulance Service for many years. She enjoyed her truck, camping, and cherished the times she was able to spend with her children and grandchildren. Terry is survived by her husband, Robert; her children, David and Nicole Gravel of Kentucky, Sarah and John Robinson of Massena, Rae-Ann White of Massena, and Jeremiah Knepp of Massena; her step-children, Misty and Chris Fuller of North Carolina and Bobby Knepp of Massena; her beloved grandchildren, Summer-Skye, Storm, Bentley, Grayson, Oceanna, Royal, Ethan, Bailey, Patience, Aubrey, Zander, Logan, Zachary, Cassandra, Damian, Ava, and Khyrin; her sister, Tammy Stark of Houston and her sons, Brandon and Megan Stark of Norwood and Travis Stark of Potsdam; her brother, Sanford Gravel of Washington, GA and his children, Cayden, Tatyana, Isabella, Jacob, Devon, and Delaney.Arrangements are under the care and guidance of the Donaldson Funeral Home, Massena, where friends may call Friday, February 23, 2024 from 5-8:00 PM, there will be no funeral services. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery, Massena in the spring. There will be no public calling hours or services.Jeannette passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving and devoted husband and children under the care of Hospice late Tuesday evening, February 13, 2024.Jeannette is survived by her husband Richard G. Shinnock, of 67 years, and their caring daughters; Glenda MacPherson, Karla Flynn and Serena and husband Stephen Krywanczyk all of Massena, NY. Jeannette is also survived by her five grandchildren; Ashley Flynn of Riverton, UT, Eric MacPherson, Lindsay MacPherson and companion Seth Blair, Aaron Krywanczyk, and Allie Krywanczyk all of Massena, NY with three great-grandchildren; Whitney and Brody Flynn-Contreras and Gavin Blair. She leaves also one brother Leroy and wife Caroline Peets of Newton Falls, NY, a sister in-law Carol Peets of Citrus Spring, FL, along with several nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, her brothers, Leonard Peete, and Raymond Peets, predeceased her along with a granddaughter Kristina Marie “Kristie” Flynn in 2021.Jeannette was born to the late Joseph and Anna (Deneault) Peets in Tupper Lake, NY on March 15, 1937. She attended schools in Tupper Lake, graduating from Holy Ghost Academy. She worked at Tupper Lake National Bank and later at JJ Newberry’s Store where she met and soon married her loving husband Richard G. Shinnock at Saint Alphonsus Church in Tupper Lake, NY on September 16, 1956, to the late Rev. Msgr. D. J. Brault. Jeannette was a faithful communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Massena and enjoyed spending time celebrating family events and holidays at the family home. She was very proud of her family and enjoyed spending quality time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a Massena Raiders fan and could be found traveling with the Massena Hockey traveling teams with her husband as a big supporter in her younger years. She loved taking rides to the Adirondacks especially in the fall sharing stories of her life there, during her childhood and teenage years along with times spent with her husband when first married. Catherine was born to her loving parents, Joseph A. “Butch” Plourde and Linda Moller on April 12, 2010, in Massena.She attended Massena School and was currently enrolled in Mrs. Goodrow's 8th grade special education class.Catherine loved to swim and enjoyed watching her cartoons and spending time with her emotional dog, “Sheba”. Massena: Mary Jane Tricase, 93, of Roosevelt Street, peacefully passed away on the morning of February 8, 2024 in the home she resided in for 73 years, under the loving care of three generations of family and Hospice.Mary was born July 23, 1930 in Massena, NY, the daughter of the late Everett and Laurette (Grenier) Marsh. She attended Sacred Heart and Massena Central Schools. She later and proudly earned her GED.She worked at Fishman’s and the Dairy Bar until one day, while walking past the Tricase Brother’s Shell Station on the corner of Center and North Main Street, she caught the eye of a young man, Albert Tricase. He took her to a Big Band dance at the town hall and they later married at Sacred Heart Church in Massena on October 22, 1949.Over the next five years, they had four little girls and raised them happily in the same home on Roosevelt Street. Mary was the epitome of a mother and a home maker. Her home was a spotless, warm and a welcoming place. Even in her final days, her concerns were for her family and guests.Mary enjoyed spending time with her friends and family and could easily read a book in a day. She also enjoyed golf, tending to her flowers, especially roses, and loved watching birds and deer. Mary and Al were spectacular dancers, particularly when doing their signature jitterbug to any Glenn Miller song. They were often mistaken for professionals. Mary and Albert traveled the world together on their own adventures spending time with cherished friends and family. Mary loved real estate and design and was always changing her décor to suit her tastes and the current fashion. Mary is survived by her daughters, Deborah Long; Cathy Toscano; Nancy (James) Lyon and Terry Taylor.She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jennifer, Jessica, Nicole, Zachary, Brittany, Erin, Brenton, Corey, Melissa, and Meghann and 19 great grandchildren.She was predeceased by her husband, Albert Tricase; two brothers, Richard and Frederick Marsh and a son-in-law, Timothy Long.The family would like to thank Hospice, especially Candace O’Neill for the care she gave to their mother.A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2024 1:00 pm at St. Mary’s Church in Massena. Friends and family are invited to greet at Church beginning at 12:30. Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery in the spring.Memorial contributions in Mary’s name may be made to Trinity Catholic School and Hospice and Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley.

MASSENA – Alma J. Dumas, 93, a longtime resident of Bayley Road, passed away Monday, February 5, 2024 at the North Country Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. For the past 5 years, she had been a resident of Farrar Home in Malone. Alma was born on February 11, 1930 in North Bangor, the daughter of the late Rufus and Mildred (Martin) McElwain. On June 6, 1953, she married Douglas A. Dumas at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in North Bangor with Rev. Gerald Kellogg, officiating. He predeceased her on February 28, 2020. She worked for a time at JJ Newberry before beginning to work in the housekeeping department at the St. Regis Nursing Home, where she remained for 14 years. Alma was a communicant of St. Mary’s/St. Joseph’s Church, Massena and a member of the Altar and Rosary Society there. She enjoyed cooking and cleaning, gardening, and wintering in Florida for many years. Alma is survived by her daughters, Brenda Marti of Houston and Debra Byington of Massena; her grandchildren, Chad (Lauren) Marti, Sarah (Eamonn) Coghlan, and Eric (Jen) Tyo of Massena; and her great grandchildren, Katelyn, Harrison, Caroline, Conor, and Molly.In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by two grandchildren, Scott and Kari Tyo; her son-in-laws, Elroy Marti, Jr. and Gary Byington; and her brother and sister-in-law, Gerald and Rita McElwain. Arrangements are under the care and guidance of the Donaldson Funeral Home, Massena, however there will be no services at this time. A graveside service will be held later in the year at Calvary Cemetery, Massena. Massena: Doris Haggart, a longtime resident of Massena, died on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at the age of 98.Born November 21, 1925, in Corning, New York, she was the only daughter of Valentine Rettig Doran and Genevieve May (Hauff) Doran. She was graduated from Corning Free Academy, received a Bachelor of Education from Albany State Teachers’ College in 1947, and a Masters Degree in Education from St. Lawrence University in 1960.She married Donald Hubert Haggart on August 17, 1948, at St. Lawrence Church in North Lawrence, New York with Fr. Maguire officiating. Mr. Haggart died on July 19, 1991. Their 43-year marriage produced three (3) children, all of whom survive her: Donald Peter (Rosalie) Haggart of Georgetown, NY; Valarie (Pierre) Guerard of Lake Placid, NY; and Natalie (James) Sweatland of Massena, NY.A long and prominent career in education was concluded in 1982 upon her retirement, having taught the intricacies of Latin and French, the joys and complexities of English grammar, and the wonders of literature to countless students for over 29 years, educating youth in North Lawrence, Brushton-Moira and Massena schools.She was a member of the Massena Senior Citizens, the VFW Auxiliary, and the New York State Retired Teachers Association. An accomplished pianist, an avid reader and a talented seamstress, she also enjoyed solving crossword puzzles and playing a good game of cards. She roamed the world with her travel besties, Georgette, Roxanne and Eddie and undoubtedly made the world a little brighter.In addition to her children, she is survived by her 10 grandchildren; Marc, Matthew and Andrew Guerard; George, Henry, John and Emily Haggart, Sara Wargo; Natalie Zona and Nicole Sweatland; and one chosen granddaughter, Maryann Caskinette; 20 great-grandchildren; a great-great grandchild and several nieces, nephews along with many dear friends.In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Valentine R. Doran, Jr., and a niece, Bette Anne Doran.Phillips Memorial Home is honored to serve the family of Doris Haggart. MASSENA - It is with heavy hearts that the family of Dwyana Lee Rupert Scott, of Massena share the passing of their beloved Matriarch, on January 25, 2024.A time of visitation will be held Wednesday (January 31) at the Phillips Memorial Home, Massena from 11-1:45 p.m. Funeral Services will commence at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Born May 12, 1946, to the late Denzil & June (Belile) Rupert. She graduated from Massena Central and later in life, from St Lawerence-Lewis BOCES. Where she excelled in Business and Administration. Dwyana then worked for BOCES, where she helped guide high school students down potential career paths until her retirement from the Massena Central School print shop.Dwyana had a great love for Elvis and Golden Oldies music, her flower beds and all things Christmas related. Every holiday and celebration that went by she was lovingly surrounded by family and friends. She was also a long-standing member of LVFD Ladies Auxiliary, serving as President for several years.Dwyana shared a special bond with her children, siblings, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. There is a saying, "having a weird mom builds character," that one statement says it all. Dwyana is survived by her children, Diane LaRock & Jeff Reifensnyder (Adam & Sierra, Sarah & David, Aleea); Dawn & David Cree, (Steven & Lauren, Brandan, Amanda & Matthew, Joseph & Kim, Shannan & Lucas); Dayna Premo & Rob, son in law/chosen son, Thomas Premo (Blake, Logan); Chosen grandchildren Jacob, Emma & Gracie. And several Great Grandchildren. She is also survived by siblings; Roberta Newman, Joe & Anna, Dean & Laurene, Shot & Michelle, Isabel (Mike), Darcy & Beth, Steve & Chris Foster, Several nieces and nephews, especially Tommy, Danielle, Derek and Meaghan.
