Esther Ganaway Obituary

Esther Cecilia Przybylski Ganaway, 91, of Spring, TX, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 16, 2023. Esther was born in Brenham, TX, on August 22, 1931, and attended Mill Creek School until the 8th grade, when she began picking cotton in the fields near Brenham. Esther married Ben E Tucker in 1953 and had one daughter. Esther was a dedicated and hard worker. After moving to Houston, she took business classes at night to learn typing and shorthand. After a number of service jobs, Esther began to work for Missouri Pacific Truck Lines, and later the Missouri Pacific Railroad. Esther continued with the railroad after the merger with Union Pacific, working for well over 35 years. Esther is preceded in death by parents Vincent Przybylski and Cecelia Baranowski Przybylski, and sister Evarista Kubiak. Esther is survived by her husband Larry Ganaway, daughter Carolyn Tucker Halpern and husband Michael Halpern, and niece Marilyn Edwards. Esther was a loving mother and wife. Larry and Esther enjoyed a glass of wine each day at 4:00. Esther also loved cats, mowing the lawn on her riding mower, and fishing with her husband Larry.
