Estelle Cox Obituary

Estelle (Bunny) Cox, 76, of Tuscaloosa, AL, died on October 4, 2023. Bunny was born in Charlotte, NC, to Nevin and Estelle Rice in 1947. She graduated from William B. Murrah Senior High School in Jackson, MS, and then Troy University. Over the course of her professional career, Bunny worked in public relations with Alabama Power Company and then served as a consultant with Phifer Wire. She was an active member of Christ Episcopal Church where she was a Sunday school teacher, a volunteer with the Connect Ministries, and actively involved in the Cursillo Movement of Alabama. Bunny was preceded in death by her father, Nevin J. Rice; daughter, Tara Leigh; and granddaughter, Alden Betts. She is survived by her husband, Ronald "Sam" Cox, and her children Nevin (Leslie) Cox, Brynnan (Jim) Reddy, and Spencer Cox; grandchildren Emma, Mason, Ben, Sam, Anne Crosby, and Pierce; mother Estelle Rice; sisters Carolyn Rice and Amy Liske; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Connect Ministry at Christ Episcopal Church, St. Jude's Children's Hospital, Hospice of West Alabama, or a charity of your choice. A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, October 27th at 11:00am at Christ Episcopal Church in Tuscaloosa. A reception will follow directly after the service.
