Ersel Day age 80, of Harriman, Tennessee, passed away Friday, September 9 2023, at the Methodist Hospital in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, and was placed in the care of the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at 11:00 am in the Pine Knot Cemetery. A complete detailed obituary is forth coming. Jana (Flowers) Humphrey, 80 of Oak Ridge, Tn passed away at her home. She was married on March 20, 1965 to Cullen Thomas (Tom) Humphrey until his passing May 28, 2010. Jana was involved with many heritage and civic organizations: Home Demonstration/FCE - roughly 50 years The Capt. W. Y. C. Hannum UDC - 21 years Oak Ridge TSAB - roughly 40 years Anderson County Fair Board - 40+ years Clinch Bend Chapter NSDAR - 16 years Gen. Henry Knox Chapter Daughters of 1812 - 14 years TN Society Daughters of Colonial Wars - 14 years Cpt. Thomas Carter Colonial Dames of the 17th Century - 14 years Continental Society, TN DIW - 16 years Cordell Hull #10 FOP Auxiliary - 20+ years Jana had lots of hobbies and interests: Wildflower and wildlife photography, crafting, craft shows, collecting toys and attending toy shows and traveling for over 50 years to battlefields and historical locations. Her favorite places to visit were Florida and New Orleans. She was an avid reader. Jana Graduated from York Institute in Jamestown, TN in 1961 and went on to earn an Associates Degree at Martin Methodist College, 1963. She completed her Junior and most of her Senior year at UT Knoxville. Jana is preceded in death by her husband, Tom Humphrey, her parents, Floyd Flowers and Ollie (Brooks) Flowers of Jamestown, TN; brother Leon Flowers of Georgia; brother-in-law Perry Rains of Chattanooga; niece Pam Rains of Buffalo Valley and nephew Dale Flowers of Jamestown. She leaves behind her 2 children Niki Beal of Cookeville, Son-in-law Cameron; and Cullen Thomas Humphrey III of Oak Ridge, daughter-in-law Sherry (Jones); grandchildren Cuylar Preuss of Cookeville; Sam Beal of Cookeville; Hanna Humphrey of Oak Ridge; and Cullen Thomas Humphrey IV of Dayton. Sisters Virginia O'Rear and Betty Rains, both of Cookeville; niece Debbie Benedito of Georgia and nephew David Flowers of Jamestown along with numerous cousins and friends. Margaret Ella Hill, age 78, of Oak Ridge, Tennessee went to be with the Lord on August 18, 2023 at the NHC in Oak Ridge. Margaret was born May 28, 1945 in McWhorter, Kentucky to the late William F. Wilson and Rachel (Madden) Wilson. Margaret loved her Bible and sharing Jesus with everyone she met. She loved Israel and was always fascinated by their customs and traditions. Margaret also loved The Bee Gees and Elvis. In addition to her parents, Margaret is preceded in death by her brothers: Tommy, James, Byon, and Bert Wilson her sisters: Clarice Elliott and Anna Thornton, and her special niece: Rosezetta Wilson. Rowena Conger Robinson Miller, age 82, of Johnson City, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, August 5, 2023, at NHC Health Care in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. She was born in Jackson, Tennessee, to Louis and Virginia Robinson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings Mary Virginia and Louis Jr. , as well as companion Richard Hegler. Rowena was a lifelong member of Central Baptist Church where she enjoyed serving in the church library, meeting with the Koinonia Sunday School Class, and singing in the Joy Choir. Rowena was a graduate of the 1958 class of Science Hill High School and attended East Tennessee State University where she was a member of the Gamma Theta Chapter of Alpha Xi Delta Sorority. She was a 64 year member of the John Sevier-Sarah Hawkins Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution where she served as both Regent and Registrar. She was also a member of the Johnson City chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy. Rowena worked in the publicity departments for both WJHL-TV in Johnson City and WLS-TV in Chicago. In January of 2005, she retired from the Washington County Sheriff's Department after 17 years of service. Rowena leaves behind her children, Robin Miller Loving, and son-in-law, Gabriel, of Knoxville, TN; Ronald Ryan Miller of Charlotte, NC; Robert Morgan Miller, and daughter-in-law, Carrie, of Charlotte, NC; nine grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 19, at 2:00 P. M. at Washington County Memory Gardens at 113 Memory Garden Drive, Johnson City, TN, with Reverend Gene Elliott officiating. Frankie L. Teitsch, of Harriman, age 71, died Friday, August 11, 2023, at the Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Frank was born March 11, 1952 in South Bend, Indiana, the second youngest of seven children. He loved his sweet dog Bella. He loved to hunt, fish and enjoyed cooking, and was most comfortable in his bib overalls and camouflage. He worked many years as a truck driver and was able to see the country in his travels. Frank was a member of Kingston United Methodist Church and also a Master Mason. Frank will be missed by family and friends alike. He is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Frances (Wilcox) Teitsch; brothers, Raymond and George Teitsch; and sister, Marsha Jellerson. Frank is survived by his loving wife of over 17 years, Laura Teitsch; his son, Casey (Virginia) Teitsch of Cody, WY; sisters, Marlene Holderman of Breman, Indiana, and Mary Mitchell of Moline, Illinois; brother, Tom Teitsch of Rock Island, Illinois; several nephews and nieces; and close friends, Mary Harvard, Joe and Chuckie Keele, Ian Koth, Jeremy and Audi Morrow, Dave Peterson, Tracy and Randi Smith, and Bob Tolbert. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, August 26, 2023 at Kingston United Methodist Church, 212 W. Church Street, Kingston, Tennessee with Rev. Todd Adams officiating. Receiving of friends and a reception will follow. Friends and family are invited to wear camouflage in honor of Frank.
