Ernest "Ernie" Ross Crawley, 74, of Soddy-Daisy, passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2022. He was of the Baptist faith and a graduate of Soddy-Daisy High School Class of 1967. Ernie worked with Norfolk Southern Railroad for 27 years as a diesel mechanic. He was a Mason and a member of the Soddy Masonic Lodge #418 F. &A. M. Ernie was an avid car man and drag racer. He liked to collect knives, arrowheads and gemstones. He was preceded in death by parents, Ellis and Novella Crawley; brother, Larry E. Crawley; sister, Brenda Gail Cross; father-in-law, Charles "Bud" Stamey. Survivors are his wife of 53 years, Debbie Stamey Crawley; children, Charles "Chuck" Crawley (Janet), Lori Roberts (Michael), Charlie Crawley (Barbara), Travis Crawley (Amanda); sisters, Phyllis Sledge; Gloria Heard (Steve); grandchildren, Olivia Brown (Damon), Hayden Roberts, Lela Roberts, William Altemose, Aubrey Crawley, Autum Crawley, Dylan Morgan, Jacob Coursey; mother-in-law, Lela Lorrine Stamey; his beloved pets, LeRoy and Slinky, many nieces, nephews and extended family. The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 31, 2022 from 9:00 a. m. to 11:00 a. m. at the funeral home.
