Ernesto Lara Obituary

Ernesto P. Lara, 72, of Kingsville, Texas passed away on April 22, 2023. He was born on August 31, 1951, in Alice, Texas to Matias Lara and Aurelia Lara. He was a Private First Class in the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War. He also worked as a Corrections Officer for the Texas Department of Corrections, a Deputy Sheriff for the Kleberg County Sheriff's Office, and a Custodian for the Kingsville Independent School District. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his father Matias Lara, mother Aurelia Lara, sister Amada Lara, and brother Enrique Lara. He is survived by his wife of 43 years Rosita Lara, six sons, Ernesto Lara Jr. , Juan Ramon (Melba) Lara, Matias (Brandy) Lara, Richard (Belinda) Lara, Michael (Francisco) Noriega, and Rick Lara; one daughter Amanda (Vincent) Murray, two brothers Matias (Mercedes) Lara and Danny Lara; three sisters Maria Irene Vela, Gloria Zuniga, and Maria Oralia Lara. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Juan Ramon Lara Jr. , Ayssa Lara, Laurena Lara, Cyan Castro, Ryan Murray, Kelsey Lara, and Kayla Lara. Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm on Thursday, April 27, 2023, and a Funeral Service will follow at 5:00 pm at Kingsville Memorial Funeral Home Chapel.
