Wesley Frederick Furton, beloved husband of the late Theresa and father to a large and loving family, passed away on February 22, 2024 at the age of 97. Born on May 8, 1926, in Detroit, MI, to the late Wesley H. and Lillian Furton, Wesley leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and storytelling.Wesley was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was preceded in death by his wife, Theresa, and their son Baby Michael. He is survived by his children Michael (Laurie), Debrah, Lawrence, Jeffrey (Donna), Cindy (Jim) Lewis, Dennis (Gina), Tim (the late Bernadette), and Teri (Melora Olexo). He was a cherished grandfather to Joseph (Stephanie), Andrew (Shalyn), Michael (Allysa), Samantha (Damien) Malenfant, Hunter Lewis, Gabrielle Lewis, Tomas, and Clara, and a proud great-grandfather to Penni, Abigail, Elliot, Jacob, Gwendolyn, and Wesley.Wesley served his country with honor during World War II in the US Army and was awarded the Purple Heart for his bravery. He later pursued his passion for landscape architecture, earning a degree from Michigan State College.Known for his warm personality and gift of storytelling, Wesley was an avid talker, hugger, and reminiscer. He had a large circle of friends and was always eager to share his experiences with others.Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the visitation on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 pm at L.J. Griffin Funeral Home, 7707 Middlebelt Road (S. of Ann Arbor Trail), and Wednesday, February 28, 2024, from 1:00 until 8:00 pm, with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. The funeral service will take place on Thursday, February 29, 2024, with visitation starting at 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral Mass at 10:30 am at St. Michael Catholic Church, located at 11441 Hubbard (at Plymouth). Wesley will be laid to rest at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery with Military Honors.Wesley will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched with his kindness and his stories. Charles Joseph Perzyck, 98, of Detroit, MI passed away on February 21, 2024. Charles was born on March 20, 1925 to the late Charles and Barbara (nee Kruszka) Perzyk. He was very proud to serve in the United States Army Air Corps during WWII. Charles is survived by his loving brother, Bernard Perzyk and his loving niece, Barbara Buschen Maye. The family would like to thank the nurses and aids who gave him exceptional loving care while he was home under hospice. Charles will be greatly missed for his good humor, generosity, and kindness. Born to Malvin and Florence Beaubien in Detroit on November 8, 1949, Dennis lived a life filled with love, laughter, and dedication. From his days serving in Korea during the Vietnam War to his 35-year career as a machinist at Bundy Tubing, Dennis showed unwavering commitment in every aspect of his life. He was a skilled pool player, bowler, and golfer, always up for a friendly (or not so friendly) competition or game. His love for tinkering with cars, camping under the stars, and enjoying the outdoors was unmatched, alongside his keen eye for playing horseshoes and patrolling the neighborhood with Copper, his faithful companion. Dennis's love story with his wife, starting from a chance encounter over a game of pool and Euchre, blossomed into a beautiful journey of partnership and companionship lasting over 20 years Proud Union member, Dennis was devoted to his work at UAW Local 369 and exuded a sense of camaraderie and community spirit wherever he went. Albera leaves behind a legacy of love and fortitude, surviving numerous trials throughout her lifetime. Born of steadfast faith and imbued with a Christ-like spirit, she navigated life's challenges with unwavering optimism, patience, and humility.Albera's journey was one of remarkable devotion to her family. In 1968, she courageously immigrated to the United States alongside her husband and their five children, ranging from ages 1 to 11 at the time. Despite the uncertainties of a new country, Albera's nurturing presence provided a steadfast anchor for her family. Her home became a sanctuary, a place where her children and grandchildren found solace, warmth, and nourishment, both of the body and the soul.A caretaker in every sense of the word, Albera's greatest joy was found in serving others. Her kitchen was not only a place of culinary delights but also a space where bonds were forged and memories were made. Her grandchildren fondly remember her as the heart of the family, affectionately referring to her home as their own.
