In Memory ofParsram “Pops” Lall1941 - 2024It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of ourbeloved Parsram Lall, who departed from this world on March 1st, 2024 at theage of 82.Parsram, fondly known as “Pops”, of Jersey City, NJ was born on September27th, 1941 to Ram and Bechnee Lall, in Champagne, Mahaicony, Guyana. Hewas a brother to Dalip, Baichu, Shilchand, Basdeo, Betty, Jasmat, Dooknie, andDanmatie. His early days were spent surrounded by family working on thefamily rice fields. He later moved to Soesdyke, where he started his family ashusband to Joyce Lall and father to Andy, Karen, Khem, and Chris. He was afather-in-law to Gem, Lenny, Nadinee, and Sherene. He was a proudgrandfather of seven grandchildren: Sarah, Elton, Kimberley, Quinlan, Symran,Kaylee, and Shannon. He was also a great-grandfather to Gabriel.In Guyana, Pops worked as a bus driver and was revered by many in thecommunity. After tough times, he emigrated to the United States in 1982 withhis family to give his children opportunities for a better life. Outside of work,Pops had a passion for cooking, craftsmanship, and passing his knowledge ontohis children and grandchildren. He was exceptionally skilled and could driveany piece of machinery you put in front of him with ease. He will be deeplymissed by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.A wake will be held at his home on Saturday, March 2nd, and Sunday, March3rd, at 219 Fowler Avenue, Jersey City, NJ.A viewing will be held for Pops on Monday, March 4th, 2024 from 4:00-8:00pm at the Greenville Memorial Home at 374 Danforth Avenue, Jersey City, NJ.His final prayers will be held on Tuesday, March 5th, 2024 at 9:30 am atGreenville Memorial Home, followed by a cremation service at Garden StateCrematorium at 4101 John F. Kennedy Blvd, North Bergen, NJ. The family ishosting a luncheon after the cremation at Pops’s home at 219 Fowler Avenue.May Pops rest in peace, and may his memory live on in the hearts of all whoknew him.

Emanuel John Comandatore (Manny), originally from Jersey City, passed away peacefully at home on February 26, 2024, at the age of 82. Manny was the son of the late Emanuel A. Comandatore and Nancy (nee Zonfrillo). He was the beloved husband of the late Ann Marie (nee Carberry) for 59 wonderful years.Manny attended St. Paul’s School, St. Peter’s Prep, and St. Peter’s University. He received degrees in economics and accounting, and a master’s in business administration. After many years of hard work as a licensed nursing home administrator, he retired from St. Joseph's Home for the Blind in Jersey City.He was a loving father and is survived by his four children, Ann Marie Comandatore-Soranno and her husband Tom, Karen Paliwoda and her husband Ted, Kenneth Comandatore, and Stephen Comandatore and his wife Melissa. He was the best Pop-Pop to his ten grandchildren, TJ, Kristen (and Tim), Lauren, Kerri (and Anthony), Ryan, Katelyn, Matthew, Nicholas, Jason, Gabriella, and his great-grandson, Tim Anthony DiPretoro. He is also survived by his loving sister and brother-in-law Nancy and Thomas Conti, three Conti nephews, Christopher (and Angela), Vincent (and Alison), and Gregory (and Allison), one niece, Christina (and Thomas) Roesinger, five grandnieces, as well as many dear cousins. A special thank you to Manny's loving caregiver Rachida LaRocca.Manny devoted his life to caring for and helping others, upholding the Jesuit standard “for the greater glory of God”. He loved spending time in Wildwood with his family, making the lifeguards whistle him in from the ocean, getting roast beef sandwiches after playing in the arcade at the boardwalk, and making Italian subs for all to enjoy on the beach. Manny was an avid Yankee fan and enjoyed going to the racetrack, collecting coins and sports cards, playing poker games, and bird watching.Visitation will be on Thursday, February 29th from 4-8pm at Greenville Memorial Home, 374 Danforth Ave., Jersey City, NJ. On Saturday March 2nd, a viewing and funeral mass will be held at 9:15am and 10am, respectively, at St. Paul the Apostle Church, 14 Greenville Ave., Jersey City.

Jerry was born on June 21st, 1952 to Paul and Jean Friend in New York, NY.A United States Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War and a Jersey City Police Officer for 25 years, Jerry was committed to serving his Country and community. After retiring, Jerry enjoyed reminiscing and telling stories of his service days.Jerry loved fishing and gathering with family to share laughs, enjoy meals, and watch sports. He was quick to lend his listening ear to those who needed it. One of his favorite roles was being “Pop” to the grandkids, whom he loved dearly.Devoted husband of Linda Friend; loving father of John Friend and his wife Abby, Ryan Friend and his wife Celeste, and Jessica Friend and her boyfriend Helmer Melgar; adoring grandfather of Zoey and Jake; and dear brother of Cathy Duffy and James Friend. Jerry was predeceased by his brother Edward and grandson Jayden.
