Together, they had seven children: Rita (Wes) Flaten, Cecil, Val (deceased), Shane (Mandy), Shanna (Matt) Deamer, Joe (Nancy), Walter (Katie). He was a wonderful son, husband, father, and brother. In addition to his parents and son, Val, he was preceded in death by 5 sisters and 7 brothers. He had a tender heart and tears would spring to his eyes whenever it was touched. He is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He deeply loves his Savior and his family. He was an example of service, sacrifice, integrity, and charity. With his sweetheart, he served 2 missions. The first was canning food at the Ogden Cannery for those in need. The second was in Nauvoo, Illinois, where he fulfilled a long awaited dream to be a teamster, working the horses and wagons. They attended the Ogden and Brigham City Temples multiple times a week, gathering their eternal family there. He loved nature and camping with his family in North Fork Campground. He grew a huge garden with the best produce, which he loved to share with everyone. He especially loved growing tomatoes, peppers and onions for salsa. From the birth of his first grandchild, he included more and more pumpkins every year. He was fondly known as "Pumpkin Willie" because he shared these pumpkins with the world. He had ponies that pulled his large red wagon and loved to give rides to his family and friends, the scouts, schools; like his garden, he shared them with everyone. One of his favorite things was to gather his family and friends. Sometimes around the BBQ pit in his front yard, on the tables and benches he made and sometimes inside the house. The house was never too small to gather his people and everyone was family to him. He enjoyed scouting of any kind, building the character and futures of many boys. He guided his own 4 boys to Eagle Scout, the highest rank in the Boy Scouts of America program. He was nominated for and awarded the Silver Beaver, which is given to scouters of exceptional character who have provided distinguished service. His favorite church calling was being a scout leader for SNAP (the Special Needs Activities Program). He was enlisted in the Navy for a few years and was on a ship during the Vietnam War. He then worked as a machinist for Hill Air Force Base, retiring with 42 years of federal service. Willie was always grateful and we express deep gratitude to all those who cared for him. In the early morning hours of November 30, 2023, Jaron Lee Edgar, known affectionately by many as Jar Bear or the Gentle Giant, embarked on his final road trip. Born on February 23, 1988, in Ogden, UT, Jaron lived his life with tireless resilience, a quick wit, and a belly laugh that could lighten even the darkest of days. A lover of the open road, Jaron made a career out of his passion, working as a semi truck driver for Skidmore Transportation. He was the embodiment of the phrase "find a job you love, and you'll never work a day in your life. " His other passions included being a car enthusiast and target shooting. But his favorite pastime was simply being on the road, where he found peace in the hum of the engine and the ever-changing scenery outside his window. Jaron was a man of deep love and fierce loyalty, especially when it came to his family. Despite not being married himself, he was a constant fixture in the lives of his family members. He is survived by his father, Christopher Edgar, his mother, Collette Tippy, his brother, Tristin Leishman, and his sister, Jordan Edgar, a grandmother, Judy Slocum, 3 nephews and a niece, Zayne, Khyon, Greyson and Braiyah. Michael Mccormick

Michael Mccormick

Age - 77

December 2, 2023

Michael Frank McCormick, aged 77 passed away on November 29, 2023 in his home with his family beside him. Mike was born October 28, 1946 in Ogden, UT to Frank and Joyce McCormick. Mike was raised in North Ogden, Utah with his two brothers, Lex (Bev) and Jed (Pam). Mike graduated from Weber High School; he then went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree from Weber State University. As a young man Mike served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in New York where he met his lifelong friend Arlo Faucett. His testimony of Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father was real, and defined his later life when Mike and JaNae served a senior mission in Canada at the Thomas S. Monson girl's camp. He married Marilyn Stephens and had three children: Clint (Lisa) McCormick, Mindy (David) Hales, and Coleen (Tyler and the late Heath) Briggs. Later in life he met and married JaNae Favero and became a loving stepfather to Heidi (Bob) Edwards and Shaunie (Ryan) Rushton. Then together they had a son Brock "Golden Child" (Whitney) McCormick, and enjoyed 44 years of happy marriage. His favorite part was the grandkids. Together Mike and JaNae have 22 grandkids and 12 great grand kids. Always the adventurer. To say Mike loved hunting, horses and mack fishing is an understatement. The only thing bigger than the fish he caught or the bucks he shot, were the stories he told. A lifetime of memories can be shared around campfires and deer camps for generations to come. Some of his favorites though were mischievous brotherly adventures, that would make Huck Finn jealous. As much as he loved the hunts, he loved bragging about his grandchildren best of all. Countless hours spent driving after every game, match, rodeo, dance competition, musical performance, baby blessing, and wedding. He never wanted to miss anything, and hardly ever did. Mike always wanted to look over one more hill, and find the next adventure, and so he has done so once again. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at 11:00 a. m. , at the Warren Ward Church, 856 N. 5900 W. , Ogden, UT.
