Patrick F. Dalton, M. D. , passed away in New York City on November 17, 2023. Pat was born in Philadelphia in 1959 to his loving parents, Florence McCrystal Dalton and Patrick F. Dalton, Sr. The second of five children, Pat Jr. was raised in Havertown and Haverford, Pennsylvania, and attended Harriton High School in Rosemont, Pa. Pat had many dear friends in his hometowns, and was known for his humor, his wit and his great dancing; he rowed on his high school crew team and competed for his high school in swimming. Some of Pat's favorite memories were of Ocean City, New Jersey, where his family spent summers. Living first at 34th Street, and then at "Dalton's Docks" at "1st and Bay," Pat enjoyed sailing, waterskiing and wonderful friendships. Pat attended Catholic University in Washington, D. C. (first studying music) before moving to New York City which became his home. Pat spent many of his favorite times in New York with his dear friend, Dixon Chow. Pat attended Hunter College and Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, earning his M. D. He practiced internal medicine in private practice for many years in New York, and was known to be a key opinion leader in the early HIV/AIDs treatment methods. Pat was a gifted and respected doctor who helped many patients through very difficult health challenges. He also had a creative side; he was a very talented pianist and composer, which talents he shared, with joy, at many a family gathering. Pat also created visual art, to which he dedicated himself over the past several years, creating an abundance of beautiful pieces which make up part of his legacy. He was able to find that beautiful intersection of where science meets art. Pat was a loving brother to his four surviving sisters, Susanna Dalton, Alisa Dalton (John Wager), Maureen "Mimi" Houlton (Joe Houlton) and Mary Katherine Dalton and will be missed.Show more
