Obituary of Elwood McBride Elwood McBride age 76 of Idabel, OK passed away on Friday, February 1, 2019 at Texarkana, TX after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on February 24, 1942 in Stillwater, OK, the son of Louis and Miriam Hiner McBride. Elwood graduated from Canadian High School in 1960 and Okmulgee Tech in 1962 with a degree in auto mechanics. He worked as a mechanic for a number of years before becoming a self-employed long distance truck driver and rancher. Elwood had many passions including his Marble Valley Ranch and his love for Herford Cattle, John Deere Tractors, horse drawn wagons/carriages, semi trucks, his collection of vintage cars and most all his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Louis Edward "Eddie" McBride, his sons Jeremy L. Fields-McBride and Floyd "Dale" McBride; a grandson, "Dusty" Eldon Don McBride, Jr. and a granddaughter, Victoria "Beth" Marcinkevicius. Elwood leaves to cherish his memory by his wife of 45 years, Marcella (Fields) McBride; children and spouses, Eldon McBride and Amanda of Idabel, OK, Kenneth McBride and Renee of Council Hill, OK, Shelley (McBride) Lynch and Lee of Checotah, OK, Misty (Fields) Hudson of Oklahoma City, OK, Jennifer (McBride) Moore and Levi of Idabel, James and Laura Parks of Broken Bow, OK; a sister, Synovia (McBride) Lemmings of Cordell, OK; and a brother, Dwight McBride and his wife, Darla of Oklahoma City, OK; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at the First Baptist Church in Idabel, OK with Richy Pollard officiating. Interment will follow at the Forest Hill Cemetery.
