Centennial, CO
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Elsielea McAnally, of Centennial on April 22, 2023 at the age of 86 years. Elsielea (Lea) McAnally was born Elsielea Bowers on May 21, 1936 in Hamilton, MO. When she was five, she moved to Pueblo with her mother. Her mother later remarried and she was adopted by Roy (Daddy Roy) Flynn. They later moved to Trinidad, CO where she met her future husband in the fifth grade. Elsielea and James McAnally dated thru high school and college and married in 1956. They raised 2 children, Jamie and Logan. After 65 years of marriage, Jim passed in 2021. After raising her children, Lea decided to pursue her love of primitive antiques. She began by working at the Antique Guild on South Broadway and later worked in Morrison, gradually increasing her inventory. In 1987 she pursued her dream of owning her own shop when she purchased an old home in Sedalia. Different Drummer Antiques was named because of Lea's ability to "march to a different drummer". The home was a diamond in the rough and Lea restored the home to its vintage beauty and registered it as one of Douglas County's finest historical landmarks. The home and all its furnishings made it comfortable and charming and every customer was very complimentary. Lea loved to decorate and her capabilities extended to her home in Centennial and Breckenridge. Her homes were always seasonally decorated but her love for Halloween and witches was legendary. She also had a strong love for animals and had many cats and dogs throughout the years. Lea is survived by her children, Jamie (Mark) and Logan (Sharon), and five grandchildren, Mitchell, Lucas, Kaylea, Nathan and Jordyn. It was Lea's wishes to have her ashes placed next to Jim's. The placement ceremony will be at their gravesite on May 13, 3:00 at Olinger Chapel Hills 6601 S Colorado Blvd, Centennial, CO 80121.
