Tom graduated from Pottstown High School in 1953, where he played baritone in the band. He worked as a draftsman for Bethlehem Steel for 23 years. He then moved on to become part-owner of Pottstown C. D. E. , Inc. , and remained there until his retirement in 2005. Outside of work, Tom was the treasurer, commissioner, and coach for the Boyertown Midget Baseball League, and also assisted with the Boyertown Optimist Mites Football. He enjoyed crafting and traveling to Stone Harbor, NJ, with his family.
