Ellis Thompson Powell Jr. , 75, of Piggott, Arkansas, passed away June 18, 2022, at Campbell General Baptist Nursing Home in Campbell, Missouri. He was born on April 12, 1947, in Monroe, Louisiana, and was the son of Ellis and Nelma (Inzer) Powell. He was preceded in death by his father, Ellis Thompson Powell, Sr. ; mother, Nelma Lee Powell; brother, Jerry Powell; sister, Barbara Jean Powell; and sister-in-law, Rhonda Powell. Ellis was a long time member of the C. M. A (Christian Motorcyclists Association). He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and serving God. Ellis is survived by his daughter, Misty Rae Thompson of Nashville, Tennessee; son, Ellis Thompson Powell, III of Piggott, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Brittany Blue, Hannah Thompson, Kayla Breanne Powell, and Julia Leanne Powell; two great-grandchildren, Vanessa May and Alekai Dotson; brother, Harry Powell; three sisters, Alice Powell Walker and husband Larry, Patricia Powell Rowe and husband Kenneth, Elizabeth Powell Rimestad and husband Guy; sister-in-law, Katherine Powell; and many other relatives and friends. No services are planned. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the cremation arrangements.
