Ellis Richard Hill passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2023 at Genesis Healthcare System in Zanesville, Ohio He was born July 18, 1938 in Zanesville, Ohio the son of the late Homer Dale and Nellie Elizabeth Hill He graduated from Hopewell High School in 1956 after previously attending Meigs School through the 7th grade He worked at Standard Oil Company (SOHIO) for 10 years after graduating high school He then enjoyed a career of over 35 years at United Parcel Service before retiring in 2001 He married Phyllis Maxine Morehead on April 2, 1961 Together they had 6 children whom they were dedicated to supporting in all of their endeavors You could find them at football games on Friday nights, basketball games throughout the winter and ringside at the county fair each summer Ellis had a lifelong passion for farming that he passed on to his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren He was a member of the Muskingum County Cattlemen's Association, Ohio Farm Bureau, Muskingum County Republican Club and Teamsters Local 637 Ellis served as an appointed Ohio House Representative for the 97th district for 4 days where he fulfilled his passion for political debate at 80 years old A man of faith, Ellis' family rests in knowing that he is in the precious arms of his Savior Jesus Christ and has been reunited with his beloved Phyllis He taught Sunday School and was the youth leader at Asbury Chapel United Methodist Church Ellis is survived by his sons Brian (Tracie) and Darin (Stephanie), both of Zanesville; a son, Daniel (Lynn) of Leetonia, Ohio; a daughter, Mendi Battin (Ernie) of Syracuse, Kansas; grandchildren Brittni (Jordan) Butler; Kaitlyn (Troy) Scheiderer; Corey (Abby), Carter (Courtney), Caleb, Kaleigh, Cameron, and Conner Hill and Isabelle, Asher and Beckett Battin; great-grandchildren Jakob, Kade, and Luke Butler; Melisa McCoy, Sawyer, and Walker Scheiderer; Carsen, Nolan and Kinsley Hill; Wesley and Grayson Hill He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, a son, David Hill, and a daughter, Melisa Hill Graham; and a sister Evelyn Pauline "Peggy" Burgoon Friends may call from 4:00 p m - 8:00 p m Thursday October 12, 2023 at William Thompson & Son Funeral Home 5765 Gladstone Drive White Cottage Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a m Friday October 13, 2023 at the Gratiot United Methodist Church Burial will follow in Poplar Forks Cemetery In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the National Trails Fire Department To to the family or in memory of Ellis Richard Hill, please

William (Bill) Nelson King, 81, of Somerset/Roseville, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving and devoted wife and family on August 31, 2023. He was born on December 9, 1941, in Caldwell, OH, son of the late William (Bill) and Frances (Fogle) King. Bill was a member of Coburn United Methodist Church and attended Trinity Full Gospel Church, worked at Anchor Hocking Glass Co. before retiring, and devoted his life to his true passion, farming. Some of his most favorite activities were riding around the farm checking the cattle with this wife, watching the newborn calves running around, or simply looking out over the fields together, as they have been inseparable for 50+ years. He was also incredibly proud of each of his children and bragged to anyone that would listen. His legacy to his family will forever be the importance of hard work, perseverance and following your passion to do what you love. Bill will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Dolores (Yarnell) King; daughter, sons, son-in-law, and daughters-in-law; Sheri (King) and Brian Harper of Cincinnati; Glenn and Amy (Neff) King of Somerset/Roseville; and JR and Leslie (Dickerson) King of Somerset/Roseville. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, Autumn (King) Dent and her husband Andrew Dent; Summer King and her finance Logan Holland; James (JW) King; Jace King; Ken (Lane) Thurman; and Logan Thurman. He is also survived by 2 great-grandchildren: Rowan Dent and Dawson Dent. Friends and family may call on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 from 6:00-8:00 p. m. at the William Thompson and Son Funeral Home in White Cottage. Funeral services and a celebration of Bill's life will be held at 10:00 a. m. Wed. Sept. 6, 2023 at the funeral home with Pastor Donny Rowland officiating. Charles Richard Rockwell, 88, of Mount Perry, died peacefully, surrounded by family, at 7: 00 a. m. Wednesday, July 19th ,2023. Charles was a life-long farmer who worked at Burnham Corporation for 30 years, and an Army veteran, having served in Germany from 1958 to 1959. He retired early in 1993 to care for his wife Judy. He enjoyed the outdoors camping and fishing with friends and family. He attended South Zanesville Church of the Nazarene. He was born in Dresden on 26 September, 1934, son of Clarence C. and Lillie B. (Stotts) Rockwell. Charles is preceded in death by his wife of 56 years Judy Ann (McElroy) Rockwell, his father Clarence, his mother Lillie, his brother William, his brother Eugene and sister-in-law Mary Ellen (Wilson), his brother Arthur and sister-in-law Sandra (Crawmer), and his sister Eileen. Charles is survived by his four sons Richard (Lillie), Michael (Tessa), Paul (Cynthia), Matthew (Ricci); eight grandchildren Jessica (Ryan) Galloway, Jessie (Ryan) Wise, Luke (Sarah), Kaleb (Cali), Jacob (Casey), Raven, Paxton, Willy; three great grandchildren Finlea, Brooklyn and Daniel; and numerous nieces and nephews. Sunday July 23, 2023 at William Thompson & Son Funeral Home 5765 Gladstone Drive White Cottage and one hour prior to the service which will be held at 11:00 a. m.
