Ella Mae Booth Reedy, age 76 of Troutdale, VA, passed away on October 4, 2023, at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abington, VA. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Ella Mae was born on October 6, 1946, in Saltville, VA, to the late Frazer and Ruby Mae Osborne Booth. She was a cherished wife to her husband, Elmer Mack Reedy. Together, they shared a lifetime of love and companionship. Ella Mae was also a devoted mother to her daughter, Michelle Mathias. Her granddaughters, Jaime and Matt Addington of Waynesboro, VA, and Jessie Mathias and Andrew Dickerson, also of Waynesboro, VA, brought immense joy into Ella Mae's life. She adored her great-grandchildren, Maylee, Jordan, and Malina Addington, cherishing every precious moment spent with them. Ella Mae's sister, Mary Ann Carter of Bluff City, TN, and sister-in-law, Mary Reedy of Chilhowie, VA, were sources of unwavering support through thick and thin. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, who will forever carry her memory in their hearts. Among her many blessings, Ella Mae had the privilege of cultivating special friendships with Rita and Jim Cunningham of Arlington, VA, and Joan and Eddie Bowers of Colorado. These cherished friends added warmth and joy to her life. After retiring from a long and fulfilling career in federal government secretarial work, Ella Mae found solace in simple joys and hobbies. She loved challenging her mind with crossword puzzles, diving into captivating books, and completing Sudoku games. Her beloved canine companion, Mello, and her cherished feline friend, Mixie, were always by her side, providing companionship and unconditional love. A funeral service in honor of Ella Mae's life will be held on Sunday, October 8, 2023, at 3:00 PM at Reins~Sturdivant Funeral Home in Independence, VA, with Rev. Ken Riggins and Bro. Charles Perkins officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service. Ella Mae's final resting place will be the Corinth Cemetery in Rugby, VA. While flowers are appreciated, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, a cause close to Ella Mae's heart. Lessie Elizabeth Perkins Paisley, age 98, of Troutdale, VA passed away at her home on June 1, 2023. She was born on July 4, 1924, in Volney, Virginia to Edgar "Edd" and Winnie Reedy Perkins. She was the widow of Kyle Ray Paisley, Jr. She retired from textile mill work as a seamstress. Lessie was a devoted wife for 61 years. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She enjoyed being with children and children loved being with her. She was a special lady whose touch made everything better. In her declining years where her memory had failed, she loved to call the names of her children. She never left out a child's name. Her chicken and dumplings and her cornbread and soup beans were unsurpassed! She is survived by two sons, Kyle R. Paisley III (Connie) of Independence, VA and Scott Paisley (Mary) of Troutdale, VA; four daughters, Martha Funk (Charles) of Troutdale, VA, Anna Paisley and Joe Murray of Galax, VA, Deborah Wooten (David) of Independence, VA, Sandora Winebarger (Ray) West Jefferson, NC; eight grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren; sister, Opal Johnson of Roanoke, VA; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, June 4, 2023, at 3:00 at Young's Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Doug Halsey officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral at the church. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Linda Gail Gore, age 49, of Troutdale, Virginia passed away on Oct. 26, 2022, at the Smyth County Community Hospital in Marion, VA. Linda was born on Oct. 30, 1972 in Marion, Virginia to Alan Alexander Gore, Sr and Elsie Lee Brewer Gore. She graduated from Grayson County High School in 1991. Linda loved everybody and everybody loved Linda! She was one who never saw a stranger and she brought much joy to her family and friends. She was a fan of country music and was often found "singing along. " She enjoyed visiting McDonalds and ordering her "Happy Meals" and "cheeseburger with just ketchup!" She was a fan of word search and mahjong puzzles. She loved coloring in her books. Linda is survived by her brother, William Sexton of Troutdale, VA; two sisters, Rhonda Hash of Independence, VA and Shelia Gore of Atkins, VA; half-sister, Betty Gore of Chicago, Il; and half-brother, Phillip Gore of Chicago, Il; three nephews, one niece, one step-niece and one step-nephew and a special caregiver, Roxanne Hall of Troutdale, VA also survive. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at 2:00 PM at the Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bob Cheeks officiating. Glenna Sue Ross, age 73, of Troutdale, Virginia went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ of Tuesday, September 13, 2022. As she left this world surrounded by her family who loved her most, she was joyfully welcomed into heaven's gates. She was born on September 20, 1948, in Welch, West Virginia to Lawrence and Addie Rhodes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Wanda Goff, Mary Ann Osborne, Faye Keaton and Phyllis Waddell; brothers, Butch, Larry and Roger Rhodes; her grandson, and the love of her life, Taylor "Tator" Pauley. She was a member of Corinth Baptist Church where she was known for her beautiful singing voice and her desire to worship and serve God. She will best be remembered for her kindness to others and her great love for all people, especially her family. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Leston (Sonny) Ross of the home; two daughters, Jennifer and John Adams and Lori and Lester Pauley all of Troutdale, VA; three grandchildren, Jaime and Jonathan Warren of Independence, VA, Tyler and Megan Pauley of Galax, Virginia, and Jordan and Megan Adams of Troutdale, Virginia; three great-grandchildren, Dawson Warren, Grayson Pauley and Luke Warren. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM at Reins-Sturdivant funeral Home.
