Ella Sue Hill age 70 passed away Sat. September 9, 2023 at her residence. She was the daughter of the Late Garcie and Marie Mullins Rose. She was a graduate of Ervinton High School and former employee of Clintwood Garmet Company for many years. She was a member of Valley View Free Will Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Gary, Monroe, Thurston and Benny, a sister Mary Potter. She is survived by her loving husband, Billy R. Hill, sons Joey Hill and Chris Hill and wife Anna all of Clintwood, Grandchildren Gracie, Jacob, Charlie and Elijah Hill, her brothers Billy Rose, Waterford, MI. , Lester Rose, Oklahoma, Mickey Rose, Dickson, TN. , and Raymond Rose, Mendota, VA. Sisters; Peggy Silcox, Kitty Rose, Janice Rose of Clintwood, Tammy Rose of Castlewood, VA. a special niece Lydia Deel along with several nieces and nephews host of other relatives and friends. Funeral Services for Ella Sue Hill will be conducted at 11 AM Tue. Sept. 12, 2023 at the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with Lynn Vanover and Frank Hall officiating. Burial will follow Phipps Memorial Cemetery, main street Clintwood. Pallbearers will be family and friends. The family will receive friends from 5 Pm till service time with a song service at 7 Pm. Mr. Lewis Graden Hodge, Sr. , age 83, of Rosedale, Virginia passed away Monday (November 27, 2023) in Clintwood, Virginia. Born July 7, 1940 in Deskins, Virginia, he was a son of the late Hugh and Martha Ida Price Hodge. He had lived his early life in the southwest Virginia area, before moving to Michigan in 1976 where he had worked and retired from the Ford Motor Plant. Upon his retirement, he had moved back to the area in 1993, residing in Rosedale. He was a member of Greene's Chapel in Paintlick, Virginia, where he enjoyed sharing his love for the Lord in song. He enjoyed singing, bluegrass festivals, and woodworking, but most of all spending time with family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, George Hodge, Carson Hodge, Lonzo Hodge, Fred Hodge, and Russell Hodge and two sisters, Helen Moore and Rugh Eighmey. Survivors include his wife of sixty-four years, Virginia Hodge of the home; two children, Norma Hodge and Lewis Hodge, Jr. both of Monroe, Michigan; two siblings, Phyllis Murphy of Blanchester, Ohio and Dallas Hodge and wife, Vernie of Napoleon, Ohio; special niece, Brenda Hodge; special nephew, Bryant Hodge; special great-great-niece, Raynei; special friend, Nancy Nutt. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Friday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Monte Elswick and Rev. Doug Blankenship officiating. Interment will follow in Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Virginia. Relatives and friends will serve as pallbearers. "Samie Robert Fleming (Sam) was born October 05, 1938 and passed away Monday, November 20, 2023 at Bristol Regional Medical Center. He was of the Baptist Faith and a lifelong resident of Dickenson County, Virginia. Before retirement he spent many years as owner and operator of 4-Way Tire and Auction where he enjoyed spending time with friends. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was preceded in death by his mother and father Mae and Thurman Fleming, one infant daughter Patricia Jean, one sister Betty Baugus and two brothers Harold Fleming and John Anderson. He is survived by his wife Jeannie Fleming, three daughters Teresa and (Dennis) Baxter of Spotsylvania, Virginia, Rita Fleming and (Russell) of Mine Run, Virginia and Donna and (William) Mooney of Clintwood, Virginia. One son Samie Fleming of the home. Three step children. Creighton Fowler, Denny Seamon and Jennifer Blizzard. "Judy Kay Moore, age 67, went home to be with the Lord, ever so peacefully, at her home late Friday evening, November 17, 2023. Judy was born on September 14, 1956, to the late Hubert and Della Meade. She was a lifelong resident of Dickenson County, Virginia. She was of the Christian faith. Her favorite hobbies included gardening, spending time with her family and most of all, she loved watching her son show horses on Saturday nights. She was the loudest and proudest on the rail for her number twenty-four. She was so loved and will be greatly missed by so many. In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her sisters, Cathy Lynn, Joyce Ann, Patricia and Nina Ruth Meade; and brothers, James and Troy Meade. She is survived by her best friend and lifelong companion, Charles Moore of Clintwood, Virginia; her only child, loving son, Jonathan (Ashley) Moore of Clintwood, Virginia; grandchildren, Ashlynn (Josh), Garrett and Maverick Moore, all of Clintwood, Virginia; and brothers, David, Freddie and Roy (Audrey) Meade, all of Clintwood, Virginia; along with other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 24, 2023 from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM with the Funeral being held at 1:00 PM with Tim Mullins officiating in the Mullins Funeral Home Chapel.
