Elizabeth Jean Terry aka Betty, age 67, of Calumet City, IL passed away April 24th, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. Born April 7th, 1952 in Chicago, IL, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Vivian Terry. Betty was a one of a kind woman who loved nothing more than spending time with her family whether it was in person or talking over the phone for hours. Bingo halls, cards at the table, or a slot machine were her favorite past times and she loved a good bargain, so garage sales and thrift stores were right up her alley. Gameshows were her thing, and she rarely missed an episode of "The Wheel". She definitely loved her sweets and if she had a motto, it would probably be, "life is too short so eat your desert first". She was a force to be reckoned with, and always had something to say, whether it was nice or not, there was no sugar coating it, and that's what made her, her, but inside that tough exterior, she was a softy who loved her entire family, totally and completely. She opened her home to whomever was in need and always made it a point to put her family first. Her love for her husband, who she adored, and her children shined through on a daily basis and she will be deeply missed by many. Betty battled so many obstacles in her last year of life, but showed the world what it meant to be strong, tough, and to never give up despite the hurdles that may stand in your way. She was a lover and a fighter and was the epitome of a true warrior. She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Felipe Rodriguez Sr; her children, Maryann, Robert, Paula, Felipe (Darcie), and Armando (Jessica). Her grandchildren, Cresencio, Marisela, Alberto, Marcos, Juan, Sandy, Leticia, Robert Jr, Miguel, Jamie, Michael, Barbara, Camen, Gage, Jaxson and several great grand children; her brother and sisters, Michael, Theresa, Mary, Ruthie; and numerous nephews and nieces. She is proceeded in death by her granddaughters, Kelly and Tiffany; brother and sisters, Thomas, Patricia, Rita, and Susan; nephews, Richie and Johnny. Services for Betty will be held on Sunday, April 28th, 2:00pm -9:00pm at Burns-Kish Funeral Home, 8415 Calumet Ave, Munster, IN 46311, followed by a funeral mass on Monday, April 29th 10:00am at St. Andrew the Apostle Church, 768 Lincoln Ave, Calumet City, IL 60409.
