Elizabeth Nespoli Obituary

NESPOLI, Elizabeth "Betty" Rose (nee Stellato), age 91, of Mahwah, and formerly of Cresskill, NJ passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, May 3, 2023. Betty was born in Brooklyn, NY, one of seven daughters of Frank and Elizabeth (Presuto) Stellato. Betty married the love of her life, Salvator Nespoli in 1956 and together they raised their two daughters. Betty was a member of St. Therese of Lisieux Church in Cresskill. She was actively involved in town and was President of the Cresskill Garden Club, and a member of the Woman's Club of Cresskill and Unico. Betty's family was her true passion and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Betty was predeceased by her loving husband Salvator in 2006. They enjoyed 50 years of loving marriage together. Beloved mother of Jo Hufnagel and Cynthia Nespoli, both of Mahwah. Loving grandmother to Sara Hilmer and her husband Robert, and Emily Hufnagel and her fiance David Podurgiel. Dear sister of Josephine Pichonnat and Teresa Franckhauser, and the late, Martha Nunziato, Rose Dionisio, Frances Guglielmo and Marie Gagliano. She also leaves behind her faithful 'grand-dogs', Cody, Lola and Mo. Family and friends may visit the Nespoli family on Monday, May 15, 2023, from 9 AM - 10 AM at the Vander Plaat-Vermeulen Memorial Home, 530 High Mountain Road, Franklin Lakes, NJ. A funeral service will be held immediately following visitation at 10 AM at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Christ the King Cemetery in Franklin Lakes.
