Elizabeth M. Leitze, 93, of Jacksonville, IL, died Saturday, June 18, 2022, at Allisonville Meadows Nursing Facility in Fishers, IN where she had been a resident for two and a half years. She was born May 18, 1929, in Jacksonville, IL, the daughter of Harold and Viola Mae Travers Pearson. She married Noel Leitze on December 17, 1950, at the Brooklyn United Methodist Church in Jacksonville. Noel Leitze passed away in 2017. She is survived by two sons, Harold D. Leitze (wife, Dr. Ann Ricks Leitze) of Indianapolis, IN, and Darrell L. Leitze (wife, Connie Neff Leitze) of Columbia, TN; five grandchildren, Jason Leitze (wife, Amy) of Fishers, IN, Jeremy Leitze (wife, Katie) of Avon, IN, the Rev. Travis Garner (wife, Amanda) of Brentwood, TN, Jayna Leitze of Port Richey, FL, and Keisha Forsyth (husband, Chris) of Clearwater, FL; and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Phyllis Spray, and an infant brother, Harold Frederick. Mrs. Leitze was a 1947 graduate of Jacksonville High School. She worked briefly at SS Kresge in Jacksonville before becoming a stay-at-home mom. Noel and Elizabeth were lifelong members of the Brooklyn United Methodist Church in Jacksonville where she was active in the Women's Society and served as Financial Secretary for many years. They moved to the Indianapolis area in May, 2017, to be closer to family. A graveside funeral service will be held at Diamond Grove Cemetery in Jacksonville at 10 a. m. on Friday, July 1, 2022, where the family will meet friends.
