Elizabeth "Betty" Kemp, 82, of Oak Harbor, OH passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at Magruder Hospital in Port Clinton, OH. She was born on August 21, 1941 in Akron, OH to Stanley J. and Helen H. (Huchko) Sipka. On June 10, 1969 in Akron, OH she married Richard Kemp. Betty worked for Ohio Edison for many years, retiring in 1996. She was a member of the Colored Pencil Society (CPSA). Betty excelled in sewing, drawing, painting and cooking. Betty enjoyed traveling by train with her husband. In addition to her loving husband of 54 years, Richard, she is survived by her children, Darlene M. (Charles) Corron-Hunter, Donald A. (Pamela) Gifford, and Kathleen S. (Kenneth) Mantell; grandchildren, Michele Corron, Samantha Gifford, and Katie Mantell; and great-grandson, Austin Corron. Private family memorial services will be conducted at a later date. Memorial contributions in memory of Betty may be given to the Ottawa County Humane Society or a charity of the donor's choice. Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 165 E. Shirley Mae Allen, age 83, of Oak Harbor, Ohio passed away on Friday, December 8, 2023 at her home surrounded by family. She was born on March 11, 1940 in Toledo, Ohio. Shirley graduated from Northwood High School and worked as a billing clerk for many years. Shirley loved spending time with her family especially her daughter, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She also loved to travel with her husband, Garrett to Clearwater Beach Florida and Las Vegas and to the Smoky Mountains with her sisters. (stay away from that stream) Shirley is survived by her daughter, Diane (Bob) Aikman; granddaughters, Kayleigh (Josh) Smith, Tabitha (Andrew) Webb, and Angelica (Tristan) Varga; great-grandchildren, Madelyn and Baby Webb, Jackson, Caleb, Aubrey, and Lucas Smith, and Aria, Brinley, and Mason Varga; her sisters and brother-in-law, Carol Coughlin, Georgia Kuehner, Mary Jo Cowell, and Sharon Turner and Jeff Turner; and her stepson, Tim. Aunt Nana "Banana" also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, especially her special nephew and niece, Dino and Crystal Cowell. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Dorothy Alexander; sister, Marlene Amstutz; brothers, Nick Alexander, John "Butch" Zimmerman; brothers-in-law, Jim Russell, Jack Kuehner, Bob Amstutz, and Darrell "Buzzy" Cowell; niece, Wendy Hall; stepson, Jeff and the love of her life her amazing husband, Garrett "Bones" Allen. Dennis M. Printy, 81, of Marblehead, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at Riverview Healthcare Campus, Oak Harbor, Ohio. He was born on April 29, 1942 in Sandusky, Ohio, the son of the late Howard and Dorothy (Clemons) Printy. He married E. Jean Gresh and she survives. Dennis was a 1960 graduate of St. Mary's Central Catholic High School in Sandusky, and went to John Carroll University in Cleveland where he graduated with a Bachelors degree in Business. He was then drafted into the United States Army where he served as an Officer during the Vietnam War. After being honorably discharged from the Army, he came home and worked as a manager for WT Grant in Fremont, Ohio. He was then transferred by the company to work in Columbus and Dayton. Following the closure of WT Grant, he came back to Sandusky and worked at Burns Jewelry for a year. He then went into the Insurance Business where he worked as an Insurance Agent for 48 years with Schaefer, Printy and Associates. Dennis was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Marblehead, where he loved singing in the church choir, and was a devout Catholic. His fondest memories were touring several time in Rome and singing in the Cathedral for Pope Francis and Pope Benedict XVI. He was also a member of the Marblehead Knights of Columbus 12224; Sandusky Bay Kiwanis Club; Past President of the National Association of Financial Professionals; Sandusky Ski Club; and many other organizations. He was an avid reader, loved to go sailing out on Lake Erie, buying guns and target shooting, but most importantly, spending time with his family and office feline companion, Cashmere and home feline companion, Fancy. Survivors include his wife, Jean; son, Jason (Lisa) Printy, Danbury Twp; sister, Susan (Tom) Coughlan, Huron, Ohio; sister, Sally (Rob) Routh, Sandusky, Ohio; brother, Kevin (Marianne) Printy, Bellevue, Ohio; sister, Sharon (Jim) Rosino, Sylvania, Ohio; and brother, Patrick (Diane) Printy, Sandusky, Ohio; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Vistation will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 822 Barclay Street, Marblehead, Ohio on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 from 9:30 am until a Memorial Mass at 10:30 am with Fr. Carolyn L. Orman, 82 of Oak Harbor, OH died Monday, November 13, 2023 at Edgewood Manor Nursing Center in Port Clinton, OH. She was born October 22, 1941 in Port Clinton, OH to the late Lawrence and Delores (Durdel) Rust. She was a 1959 graduate of Salem-Oak Harbor High School. On August 17, 1963 she married Gaylord Orman who preceded her in death on December 8, 2003. Carolyn worked for W. R. Thomas and the Village Mercantile in downtown Oak Harbor. She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ where she was involved with the Sunday School Education both as a teacher and Superintendent of Education. She also spent time working in the Church office. Following the death of her husband, she loved traveling with the Oak Harbor Group on various trips around the United States. Survivors include her children: Charlene (Bill Windnagel) Wahl of Oak Harbor, OH, Cheryl Hites of Temple, TX, and Richard Orman of Fremont, OH; grandchildren: Jessica (Adam) Settimo, Kaitlin Wahl, Travis Hites, Zachary (Alexa) Hites, and Brendan Orman; great-granddaughter Nora Settimo; sisters: Rita (Dale) Haton of Mt. Pleasant, MI, Linda McDonough of Sylvania, OH, and Susan Laeng of Fremont, OH; and many nieces and nephews. Matthew Cornett, Jr. , 66, of Oak Harbor, Ohio, passed away on November 9th, 2023 after a long battle with ALS and Parkinson's Disease. Matthew was born on November 8th, 1957 to Matthew Sr. and Elsie Cornett in Toledo, Ohio. Matthew attended Whitmer High School, then enlisted in the US Army at the age of 17. After serving for a short time, he followed in his father's footsteps and became a boilermaker at the Boilermakers Local 85 in Rossford, Ohio, where he worked until his retirement in 2013. Matthew enjoyed hunting and fishing, riding motorcycles, and spending time with his family and friends. Matthew was predeceased by his parents, Matthew Sr. and Elsie Cornett; his sister, Ella Mae Sizemore; and brother Jimmy Cornett. He is survived by his older brother, Dexter "Jack" Cornett (Gloria); daughters, Robin (Terry) Chio, Theresa (Eric) Sutherland, and Sherri (Tim) Mooney; and grandchildren, Shelbi, Dallas, Jessicka, Tatumn, Koral, Paige, Sirena, Hayden, Grace, Kailee, Adalynn, Aubree, and Scarlet. Marie Paulette Oberhaus, 75, known by all as Paulette, passed away at the Genoa Retirement Village, on Friday, November 3, 2023. She was the daughter of Joseph M. and Mae M. (Stephenson) Henderson, born in Knoxville, Tennessee. She graduated from Charlestown High School in West Virginia and earned her bachelor's degree at Shepherd College. Paulette attended the Fashion Institute of America in Atlanta, Georgia and was hired by the former Lamson's Department Store, in Toledo, and Hartley's of West Virginia, as a fashion/clothing buyer. Paulette also had been the State Liquor manager at the Community Market IGA in Oak Harbor, as well as a cashier and delivery person. Paulette was an active person who enjoyed cooking, baking, cake decorating, crafting, gardening, refinishing furniture and especially decorating for the holidays. She was a former 4-H advisor, Leader for the Girl Scouts and Brownies, and a past president of the ABC Club of the Graytown Elementary School. Paulette was an active member of the D. A. R. and the Hillbilly Shriners. Paulette is survived by her loving husband, Lyle Oberhaus, whom she married on June 1, 1985, daughters, Heidi (Tracy) Yeazel and Katie (Eric) Suder, grandsons, Hudson, Colton and Branson Suder, Matthew Yeazel along with Baby Yeazel, due to arrive in January 2024, sister, Patricia "Pat" (Dick) Ivarie, and sister-in-law, Stephanie "Stevie" Henderson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph & Mae, and brother, Joe Henderson. A memorial service for Paulette is scheduled for 11:00 AM, Monday, November 27, 2023, at St. John Lutheran Church, 450 N. Rocky Ridge Rd. , Oak Harbor, Ohio 43449. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will take place at a later day in the Elliston Cemetery. Marjorie Annette Priesman, age 95, of Oak Harbor, Ohio passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at the Ottawa County Riverview Health Care Campus. She was born on August 11, 1928, in Oak Harbor, Ohio to Albert W. and Mae L. (Schling) Witt. On June 30, 1948, she was united in marriage to Gordon L. Priesman at St. Paul Lutheran Church in rural Oak Harbor. They were married for 57 years. Marge is survived by her daughters, Judith L. Bahnsen of Oak Harbor, Sandra J. (Richard) Lenke of Oak Harbor, Marsha L. (Darren) Ressler of Paramus, New Jersey and Kathryn A. (Jamie) Montooth of Fremont, Ohio; grandchildren, Chad (Patty) Bahnsen, Cara (Rick) Densic, Micah (Becky) Lenke, Matt (Brandy) Lenke, Bryan (Kathy) Ressler, Jill (Mark) Ruebenacker, Brett (Jamie) Ressler and Ty (Paige) Montooth; 25 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon, siblings, Lucille Ohl, Phyllis Tunnel, Dorothy Ackerman, Lyle Witt, Albert Witt Jr. , Kenneth Witt and Robert Witt. Marge was a graduate of Salem Oak Harbor High School as a member of the class of 1946. She started her education at the one room schoolhouse across from Roose Cemetery for one year and then continued at the newly built Oak Harbor School on Church Street in Oak Harbor. Early in her marriage, she worked for Drukenmiller Insurance Agency as a secretary and then later as a secretary/bookkeeper for Preisman, Burdine and Douglas. She was a lifelong member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, where she was active with Sarah Circle. Marge also taught Sunday School alongside her husband Gordon. Her favorite activities included being an avid seamstress for her family and church, gardening, canning, reading and spending time with her grandchildren. Joseph William Hermes, 88 of Oak Harbor, OH died Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at his home. He was born June 9, 1935 in Oak Harbor, OH to the late William and Florence (Lochotzki) Hermes. He was a 1953 graduate of Oak Harbor High School. He then enlisted in the United States Army where he was stationed at Ft. Ord, CA. On May 6, 1961 he married the former Dianne Haaser who preceded him in death February 11, 1999. Joe worked for Toledo Machining in Perrysburg, OH retiring June 30, 1997. Joseph was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Port Clinton and St. Boniface Catholic Church, Oak Harbor. He also held memberships in the American Legion and V. F. W. Post #2480, Moose Lodge, and Eagles all in Port Clinton. He also was a volunteer for the Erie Township Fire & E. M. S. Survivors include his children: David (Lumen) Hermes of Statesboro, GA, Laura (Rick) Munoz of Leesburg, IN, Mark (Kay) Hermes of Jacksonville, NC, Amy Skojac of Oak Harbor, OH, and Ken (Margaret) Hermes of Perrysburg, OH; 9 grandchildren; brothers: James, John, Larry, & Richard Hermes; sisters: Dorothy Bernard, Ceil Frisari, Marie Knight, and Rose Hermes. He was also preceded in death by siblings Paul Hermes, Robert Hermes, Agnes Schiller, Annie Hermes & Roberta Hermes. Hazel D. Franck, 101, of Oak Harbor, OH passed away Thursday, October 19, 2023 at Elmwood Assisted Living in Fremont, OH. She was born on April 23, 1922 in Oak Harbor to William and Laura (Rauch) Dornbusch. On July 29, 1941 in Oak Harbor she married Orlan "Lee" Franck, and he preceded her in death on December 8, 1992. She worked for the Homeville Fruit Farm for 17 years and for the Erie Army Depot during World War II. Hazel was a lifetime member of St. John Evangelical Church in Oak Harbor, helped with the quilting group at church for several years, and was the current eldest matriarch of the church. She loved sewing, doing crossword puzzles, and playing cards. Hazel was a 4-H advisor for Ottawa County for 10 years, member of the Social Club in Carroll Township for over 60 years, and a member of the Harbor Lights Senior Group. Hazel was honored to be named to the Ottawa County Senior Hall of Fame. While raising her children she was active as a room mother and helpful hand at LaCarne Elementary School and a den mother for Cub Scouts. Hazel enjoyed spending time with her family and making rice crispy treats for her grandkids. She appreciated all of her family's kindness and visiting with her over the years and always including her in things. Hazel is survived by her children, William (Nancy) Franck and Ann (David) Borer, grandchildren, Todd Franck, Mark (Amy) Franck, Jason (Hollie) Borer, and Jennifer Borer, and great grandchildren, Noah Borer & Hannah Borer. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Robert (Ruth) Dornbusch and Nelson "Pete" (Shirley) Dornbusch. Funeral services for Hazel will be conducted by Pastor Becky Bolander 2:00 p. m. , Sunday, October 22, 2023 at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, 122 W. Ottawa St. , Oak Harbor with visitation from 1-2 p. m. prior to the services at the church. Interment will follow in Rusha Cemetery, Carroll Township, OH.
