Dorothy Jane Tucker was born on January 4, 1950, to Emma Williams in Atlanta Georgia. Dorothy was the third born of seven children. Dorohty has 3 beautiful daughters, Tonya Tucker, Jill Dennis (Mike Dennis), and Jennifer Lee (TJ Lee) with her husband Jerry James Tucker. Jerry and Dot have been married for 50 years. Dorothy was a homemaker most of her life but in 1999-2003, she opened her own consignment business in McDonough Georgia called Kids Again. She loved being around her family, her children, and grandchildren, Chase Tolbert, Traton Graham (Jaeden Graham), Faith Tolbert, Tadin Lee, Zain Lee, and Tavin Lee. Her grandchildren were her world. She loved traveling, being on vacation with her family, and having holiday gatherings in her home. She was all about FAMILY. She also loved a good deal, thrifting, Coca-Cola, and Elvis Presley.Dorothy is preceded in death by her mother, Emma Williams, her brothers, Robert and Freddy Blankenship, and her sister, Wanda Stigall.Dorothy leaves to cherish her memories, her husband, Jerry, her three daughters, Tonya, Jill, and Jenna, her six grandchildren, Chase, Traton, Faith, Tadin, Zain, and Tavin, her three siblings, Lee Williams, Gary Williams, and Patricia Williams, and a host of family and friends. She will be deeply missed.

Martha Ann Carlisle Baker was born on September 10, 1937, in Atlanta, Georgia, to Helen andDewey Carlisle. She is the youngest of three sisters and grew up in the Center Hill area ofAtlanta. She came to know Jesus as her Lord and Savior in her early years and was very active atCenter Hill Methodist and in Youth For Christ. Martha graduated from West Fulton HighSchool in 1955, and married J. Slater Baker of Chattahoochee Village on June 8, 1956.Martha and Slater raised their three children at Roswell Street Baptist Church, where she was afaithful choir member and Sunday school teacher of different ages through the years. As well asenjoying time with her family, Martha loved to read and travel. One of her favorite things was totake the family to enjoy a week together on Siesta Key in central Florida, which they did manytimes over the years.She was a sharp, strong, beautiful, joyful, wisdom-filled woman. She was a vital part of the livesof her family. She loved them deeply and is deeply loved.She was preceded in death by her parents, Dewey and Helen Carlisle, and her sisters, NancyCouch and Bonnie Westbrooks.She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Joel Slater Baker of Kennesaw; and children, BambiBaker McLaughlin (John) of Powder Springs, Joel S. Baker, Jr. (Vicki) of Mableton, and PatriciaBaker Diffey (Chris) of Birmingham, AL. She was a small business owner and relayed her love of Jesus and his teachings with every client she encountered. Silvana loved spending time at home with her husband, children and grandchildren. She loved watching Christian movies on her days off. Silvanas greatest passion was the workings and teachings of Jesus Christ, and she loved sharing his news with everyone she came into contact with.

Martha W. Highfield, age 84 passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 in Marietta, GA. Martha was born in Dalton, Georgia to William Thomas and Isabel Williams. Martha was employed with Lockheed and had retired 2000. She was a member of Woodstock First Baptist Church, and a little known fact about Martha, she was the first organist for Acworth First Baptist Church. She taught herself how to play the piano and was gifted in that she played by ear. Martha enjoyed many things in life, beach trips, cooking, shopping, John Wayne, Western movies, but what brought her the most joy was the time spent with her grandchildren. Martha is survived by her son Mark Highfield (Lucia); and her daughter Susan Highfield (Jonathan); her brother Bobby Williams (Myra), her sister Brenda Barber (Doug), her brother Mike Williams (Debra), her sister Judy Dodd (Morrell) and her sister in law Janet Williams; her grandsons Alex Highfield (Samantha), Aaron Highfield, Hunter Highfield, Nicholas Taylor, Joseph Highfield, and Ashton Taylor; her great granddaughter Elizabeth Anne Rose Highfield, her great grandson Baron Alexander Highfield, her great granddaughter Olivia Wren Highfield and her many nieces and nephews. Martha was preceded in death by her husband Gene Highfield and her brother Tommy Williams. A visitation for Martha will be held Wednesday, February 28, 2024 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home, 2950 North Cobb Pkwy, Kennesaw, GA 30152. A graveside service will occur Thursday, February 29, 2024 from 11:00 am at Georgia National Cemetery, 1080 Veterans Cemetery Rd, Canton, GA 30114. A reception will occur Thursday, February 29, 2024 from 12:30 pm at 1890 House in Pineridge Memorial Park, 2950 Cobb Pkwy, Kennesaw, GA 30152. Carole A. McCarthy, age 58, passed away on February 21, 2024. Daughter of Edward and Midge Piccirelli , Carole was born on May 13, 1965 in Manhasset, New York. Carole earned her Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Kennesaw State University. On August 26,1989 she married the love of her life, Kevin McCarthy and they remained married for thirty four years before her passing. Throughout her career, she proudly worked as a 2nd grade and special education teacher in Marietta, Georgia for many years before retiring. Throughout her life, Carole enjoyed being outdoors playing tennis, shopping and walking on the beach. Above all, she loved to make memories and spend quality time with her family and family dog, Snickers. Carole was loved by everyone and will be deeply missed. Carole is preceded in death by her father, Edward Piccirelli; father in law, Patrick McCarthy and brother in law, Peter McCarthy. Carole is survived by her loving husband, Kevin McCarthy; mother, Midge Piccirelli; children, Michael McCarthy, Matthew McCarthy and Madison McCarthy; brother, Thomas Piccirelli; sister, Linda Piccirelli and many extended family members and friends to cherish her memory. A funeral service to honor Mrs. Carole A. McCarthy will be held on March 2, 2024 at 11:30am at HM Patterson Canton Hill Funeral Home. The family will receive guests for visitation on Friday, March 1, 2024 between the hours of 4:00pm and 7:00pm. Suzanne Turner Nichols, age 77, of Marietta, Georgia passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, February 13, 2024. Suzanne was born in Wichita, Kansas July 24, 1946. She was the oldest of five children. The Turners were a very close knit military family that moved often. Suzanne attended elementary school in Germany and Ohio. She graduated from Randolph High School located on Randolph Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. While at Randolph, she was very actively involved in school activities such as Student Council Secretary, concert choir, theater production, varsity cheerleading, homecoming court and voted Sweetheart Ball Queen. Following high school, she attended Kansas State University where she studied Fashion Merchandising. While at Kansas State, she became a proud sister of Pi Beta Phi sorority, a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon “Little Sisters of Minerva”, a yearbook “beauty nominee”, a varsity cheerleader and was crowned Military Ball Queen. During her freshman year she took a chance on a blind date suggested by a sorority sister and met a guy named Bobby Nichols, who, as it turned out, became the luckiest and most blessed guy in the world. On June 17, 1967, Sue and Bob were married in a military ceremony in the chapel of McConnel Air Force Base in Wichita, Kansas and set out on a lifetime adventure. The first five years of marriage were spent going where the US Navy sent them. They would live in Pensacola, FL, Corpus Christi, TX, San Diego, CA, San Francisco, CA, Honolulu, HI, Okinawa, Hong Kong, and Taiwan, Japan. Following discharge from active duty, the couple moved to Dallas, TX briefly, then to New Jersey where Bob had taken a flying job with Eastern Airlines. The family moved in 1972 to Atlanta, GA shortly after the birth of their daughter Kimberly. They bought their first home in Marietta, GA and live there still some 50 years later. A son, Rob, was born in 1979 and from that moment on, it was all kids all the time. Sue loved taking Kim to dance classes and performances and attending all of Rob’s athletic events. She was excited to get to replay all of that with the arrival of her adored grandchildren, Nick & Carsen. Along with family, Sue found time to be a highly successful business woman. She maintained a showroom at the Atlanta Apparel Mart, carrying women’s sports wear for 10 years. She also worked as an antique dealer and for the past 10 years, worked as an administrator/clerk at Walton High School from where she retired in 2023. Suzanne was preceded in death by her parents, Colonel L.M. Turner, USAF (ret.), and Mrs. Doris C. Turner, her brother Douglas Turner and brother Tommy Turner. Suzanne is survived by her husband of 56 years, Robert B. Nichols; daughter Kimberly A. Nichols (Dan) Makuch; son Robert L. (Heather) Nichols; grandson Nichols Makuch; granddaughter Carsen Makuch, all of Marietta, GA; brother Brad (Ann) Turner of Manhattan, KS and brother Michael Turner of Tucson, AZ. Sue’s life was a life well lived. She believed in her God, Jesus Christ and life everlasting. She had a plaque in her kitchen that reads “It’s a Wonderful Life”. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 2, 11am St. Peter and St. Paul Episcopal Church. 1795 Johnson Ferry Road, Marietta, Georgia 30062. Celebration of Life gathering following at 1pm, Indian Hills Country Club, 4001 Clubland Drive Marietta, GA 30068. Burial will be at Georgia National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for a contribution to Walon High School Foundation at https://www.waltonhighschoolfoundation.org/donate/ or to the charity of your choice in Sue’s name.

"Pat Little Medlin, 82, of Marietta, Georgia, passed away on February 19, 2024. She was born on April 22, 1941, in Hokes Bluff, Alabama, to the late William \u0026quot;Bill\u0026quot; Little and Hazel Turner Little. She was beloved by her sisters, Cherry Gale Little McConnell and the late Sherry Dale Little Guilfoil. Pat is survived by her loving husband, Phillip Louis Medlin, and their children, Phillip Shea Medlin (Tracy Davis Medlin) and Shana Medlin Hubbell (Greg Hubbell). Pat was also a proud grandmother to William Lyman (Carolyne Rogers Lyman), Rachel Lyman Deshe (Tal Deshe), Olivia Medlin, Addison Medlin, step grandmother to William Hubbell and Jacob Hubbell (Mary Eloise Hubbell), and great-grandmother to Rollie Lyman, Stella Lyman, and Eli Hubbell. She also is survived by many devoted nieces and nephews, including Kelly, Marc, Micah, Kirsten, Heather, Lisa, Alana, Joe, Brett, Bob, Ellen, and Anna Catherine. Pat was known for her helpful and kind nature. She had a talent for entertaining others with her wit and hospitality, and her party-hosting abilities were unmatched. She was also a talented wedding coordinator at First Presbyterian Church, where she and her family were members for many years. For many years, Pat co-owned a craft shop in Marietta with one of her dearest friends, Helen Mims. Additionally, Pat was a master holiday decorator, bringing joy to those around her with her festive creations. In her free time, Pat enjoyed gardening, crafting, knitting, flower arranging, playing cards, and cheering on the football team at Auburn University, from which she, her husband, and children all graduated. Her hobbies brought her immense joy and allowed her to showcase her creativity. She found solace and fulfillment in nurturing plants, creating beautiful crafts, and expressing herself through art. Her children and grandchildren were often outfitted with her unique smocked creations. She also loved nature and animals, especially the deer on her property and her beloved dog, Izzy. Pat was a member of Marietta Community Church, where she found spiritual guidance and support. She was an active member in bible study and cultivated many long, loving friendships. Her strength and positive spirit brought comfort to all around her. The funeral arrangements are being handled by Mayes Ward Dobbins, located in Marietta, Georgia. Service will be held at Marietta Community Church on Monday, 02/26/2024 at 11:00 am with a following reception there. Flowers are appreciated, or if you would like, contributions to Marietta Community Church are also appreciated."
