Elizabeth Bickel Hoover, age 92, of Goshen, previously of Fort Wayne, passed away peacefully October 4, 2023, in Goshen. Born July 30, 1931, in Souderton, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Asher and Viola (Bickel) Souder. Elizabeth was an extremely bright student and hard-working. She completed her high school education at Eastern Mennonite High School in Harrisonburg, Virginia, then attended Eastern Mennonite College before going to Grand View Hospital School of Nursing in Sellersville, Pennsylvania, where she graduated top of her class as a registered nurse. While in nursing school, Elizabeth was introduced, by mail, to Joseph Hoover and a month later they met in person. They were married in December 1956 in Pennsylvania. They lived in Newton, Kansas, while Joe completed his alternative service, and moved to Chicago, Illinois, where he began medical school at Northwestern University. They settled in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where Joe practiced medicine as a family physician. Elizabeth was a dedicated wife and loving mother and grandmother. She also served in husband Joe's medical practice, including working at the office as a nurse. Elizabeth deeply enjoyed the arts. As a young woman she sang with the Finland Girls quartet at evangelistic meetings and was a member of the Voice of Youth choir. Later she helped lead worship at First Mennonite Church in Fort Wayne and sang in the Fort Wayne Philharmonic Choir. She excelled at oil painting and her works inspire today. She was a member of College Mennonite Church in Goshen. She had a quiet faith in Jesus and spent time daily in Bible and devotional reading. Liz was a mighty prayer warrior and an inspiration to her family and anyone who knew her. She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Hoover, and by her youngest brother, James Souder. She is survived by her three children and their spouses: Lisa and David Hnath, Albert and Susan (Lew) Hoover, and Tina and Jeff Dahlseid; ten grandchildren: Elizabeth, Sarah, and Michael Hnath; Saryn and husband Jonathan Dietz, Shaley and husband Javier Espinosa, Shanler and husband Nick Flabiano, and Sheridan Hoover; and Aidan, Liam, and Rowan Dahlseid; also seven great grandchildren: Sevy, Susette and Secile Espinosa; Hudson, Sterling and Holden Dietz; and Sistine Flabiano; brother, Gerald Souder, and sister, Doris (Souder) Morgan; plus many nieces, nephews and friends. William "Chuck" Bealer, 63, of Fort Wayne, IN, passed away on November 26th, 2023. Chuck was the son of William "Bill" and Jan Bealer of Colona IL and was born in Moline, IL on November 29th, 1959. Chuck graduated from United Township High School in 1977. After graduation he married Annette Catour and had Katie and Sean, and he later married his best friend Connie (Brodbeck) on February 21st, 1997. Chuck had a career in the electrical IBEW Local 1393 union. He was a member of FOE 248 and attended The Pointe Church in Fort Wayne, IN. Chuck had a passion for his golf trips with friends, traveling with his wife and spending time with grandkids. He was a University of Illinois Athletics, Chicago Bears, and Chicago Cubs fan. Chuck is survived by his wife Connie of 26 years, children Katie (Nick) Dhabalt, Woodhull IL, Sean (Elizabeth Gant) Bealer, Des Moines IA, grandchildren Emeline, Lincoln, and Adley Dhabalt, brother Doug Bealer, Colona, IL, sisters Debbie (Richard Witt) Coughlin, Cumberland, MD, Kelly (Chris) Parks, Moline, IL father William "Bill" Bealer, Moline, IL, father-in-law, Al Brodbeck, mother-in-law, Gloria Brodbeck, both of Beverly Hills, FL, brother-in-law, David (Jennifer) Brodbeck, Goodyear, AZ and several nieces and nephews. Adam E. Isley, 47, North Manchester, passed away November 30, 2023, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. The son of Max Isley and Brenda (Seibold) Wadkins, Adam was born in Wabash on May 3, 1976. Adam was a 1994 graduate of Manchester High School, where he played baseball. His love for the game continued throughout his adult life, as he played fastpitch softball in Wabash for several years and coached his daughter's travel softball team for ten years. After graduating from Ivy Tech with an associate degree in engineering, Adam co-founded 3-G with his brother, Jason Isley, and best friend, Jason Miller. Together they created a successful business, but more importantly, an unbreakable brotherhood solidified between the three of them. On May 23, 2020, Adam married his soulmate, Rachel Elizabeth Probst. Though their time together was cut short, they shared more love in a few years than many do in several decades. In every venture of Adam's life, he possessed an extraordinary gift for making a positive impact on those around him. Others were drawn to his personality and sense of humor. Adam loved his family dearly; he was an incredible father, son, husband, and brother who only wanted the best for those he held in high esteem. Adam touched many lives, and his passing leaves a void that can never be filled.
