Elizabeth Marie Dobbin, affectionately known as Betty, was a beacon of light who illuminated the lives of those who knew her. Born on October 20, 1932, in Bronx, New York, she graced this world with her presence for 90 years before passing away on April 23, 2023, due to natural causes. Betty's life was a testament to the power of love, laughter, and family. Her selfless, loving, and funny nature touched the hearts of many, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the honor of knowing her. Betty's early years were spent in the Bronx, where she received her high school education. Although her formal education may have ended there, her wisdom and knowledge were boundless. She was a lifelong learner who had a natural curiosity about the world around her. This curiosity and passion for learning would later be passed down to her children and grandchildren, inspiring them to pursue their own dreams and aspirations. As a homemaker, Betty was the heart and soul of her family. Her unconditional love and guidance created a nurturing environment where her children, Valerie Rodriguez, William Ameneiros, Kathryn Paterek, and John Vigorito, could grow and thrive. She was a devoted mother who always put her family first, ensuring they were well taken care of and deeply loved. Her dedication to her family extended beyond her own children, as she was a doting grandmother to 14 grandchildren, Anthony, Jason, Allison, Brian, Mallory, Lisa, Samantha, Danny, Johnny, Louie, Carly, Vinny, Frankie, and Stephanie, and a loving great-grandmother to nine great-grandchildren, Addison, Dylan, Cali Jae, Charlotte, Julian, Logan, Kylie, Everly, and Lucas. Betty's love for her family was matched only by her love for life itself. She was a woman who embraced every moment and found joy in the simple pleasures. Her interests were as diverse as her personality, ranging from her role as everyone's personal TV guide to her love for dancing at Tap-a-Mania. She was a fan of the television show Blue Bloods and enjoyed watching game shows. Betty was also known as the queen of the casinos, where she reveled in the excitement and camaraderie of her fellow players. Throughout her life, Betty was a beacon of positivity and hope. She made everlasting friendships along the way and she held those friendships near and dear to her heart. Her contagious and bright personality lit up every room she entered, and her laughter was infectious. Betty's unwavering optimism and love for life were an inspiration to all who knew her. Her Son-in-Laws, Anthony Rodriguez and Raymond Paterek, Daughter-in-Laws, Laureen Ameneiros and Donnamarie Vigorito, Nieces Donna Marcello, Alice Napoli, and Nephew Raymond Ameneiros, were also cherished members of Betty's family. They, along with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, will carry her memory and legacy forward. Betty's life was a beautiful tapestry of love, laughter, and family, and her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched. As we remember Betty, let us honor her memory by embracing her spirit of love, laughter, and positivity. Let us be inspired by her unwavering commitment to family and her ability to find joy in the simple pleasures of life. In the words of Angela Landsbury, "May neighbors respect you, trouble neglect you, the angels protect you, and heaven except you. " By this measure, Betty's life was a resounding success, and her legacy will continue to inspire us all. In loving memory of Elizabeth "Betty" Marie Dobbin, may her spirit live on through the countless lives she touched and the love she shared. In her words, "Love you more. "
