Elizabeth L. Boyer, 87, of Gary, West Virginia, passed away on August 30, 2023, in Gary, West Virginia. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, and aunt. Elizabeth was born on November 11, 1935, in Saltville, Virginia, to Douglas Lester and Mary Roberts Lester. Elizabeth was an avid golfer and reader. She enjoyed spending her free time on the golf course, enhancing her skills and enjoying the beauty of the game. She was also a passionate reader, immersing herself in various genres and always expanding her knowledge. She was preceded in death by her parents; Husband: Lonnie Boyer; Son: Jeffrey Boyer; an infant son and three brothers. Elizabeth is survived by her sons, Thomas Boyer of Eckman, WV, and James Boyer of Hurricane, WV. She is also survived by her grandchildren, David Boyer of Bluefield, WV, Morgan Boyer of Hurricane, WV, and Kayla Kelly of Kentucky. Additionally, she is survived by her brother, Douglas Milton Lester of Mt Carmel, TN and Sister-in-Law Joann Boyer of Hemphill, WV, and a host of other family and friends. Elizabeth will be remembered for her kind and loving nature, her dedication to her family, and her zest for life. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. In honoring the wishes of the deceased, her body has been cremated with no services held. Fanning Funeral Home of Welch is serving the family. Delphine Steele Stacy, age 60 of Jolo, West Virginia, passed away Thursday, February 16, 2023, in the McDowell Nursing and Rehabilitation Center at Gary, West Virginia. Born December 11, 1962, in Welch, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Hobert Steele and Alice Roberts Steele. Delphine was a homemaker and she enjoyed sewing and crocheting. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Burl Stacy; and two brothers, Flay Steele and Darrell Steele. Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Saturday, August 6, 2022, for Mamie Alice Walker Belcher, age 94 of 205 Big Red Road, Roderfield, West Virginia, who died Monday, August 1, 2022, at the McDowell Nursing and Rehabilitation Center at Gary, West Virginia. Elder Ralph Steele and Hersie Belcher will officiate at the Elkhorn Regular Baptist Church on Belcher Mountain. Burial will follow at the Elkhorn Church Cemetery on Belcher Mountain. Born July 22, 1928, in Superior, West Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Floyd K. and Sarah Lane Belcher. She had been a lifelong resident of McDowell County and a member of the Elkhorn Regular Baptist Church on Belcher Mountain. She had been employed at several different businesses in Welch for many years and really loved working. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, William Everett Walker and second husband, Ivan Lee Belcher; five sisters, Virgie Workman, Phoebe Worsham, Ruby Toler, Florence Lane and Lillian Belcher; two brothers, Clarence and J. Frank Belcher; Stepfather, T. S. Belcher; Six stepbrothers, Charles, Paul, William, Tobias Jr. , Ballard and Aaron Belcher; four stepsisters, Pearl, Nellie, Rachel and Ethel. Survivors include two sons, Roger (Lynn) Walker of Roderfield, Donnie (Fonda) Walker of Roderfield; four grandchildren, Roger (Krista) Walker of Wiley Ford, West Virginia; Michael (Jenny) Walker of Middletown, Virginia, Crystal Walker (Will) Cassady of War, West Virginia and Donnie Ray (Leslie) Walker of Fayetteville, West Virginia; great-grandchildren, Ainsley, Avery and Emmy Walker, Kristopher and Katelyn Cassady. Alice Jane Rutter Coleman, 75 of Gary, WV, passed away Monday, April 18, 2022 in the McDowell Nursing and Rehabilitation Center at Gary, WV. Alice was born December 15, 1946 in Raysal, WV, a daughter of the late John and Artie Rose Rutter. Alice was retired from the McDowell County Head Start. Alice was known for her cooking abilities and had many published recipes. She was an avid reader and enjoyed crocheting, ceramics, sewing, and quilting. She was a member of the Bradshaw Rebecka Lodge in Bradshaw, WV. In addition to her parents, John and Artie Rutter, Alice was preceded in death by her husband Glen Coleman Sr. ; one daughter, Sharon Cole; one son, Marcus Coleman; two step daughters, Brenda Addair and Robin Addair; a great grandson, Jackson Baker; five sisters, Lois Rutter, Mary Lou Boxenbaum, Elizabeth Rutter, Norma Jean Rose and Gladys Rutter; and seven brothers, James Goodman, Clyde Goodman, Doug Rutter, Marion Rutter, Michael Rutter, Burt Rutter and Bobby Rutter. Survivors include three sons, Glen Coleman Jr. and wife Jullin of Milton, WV; William Cole Jr. of Jolo, WV, and Galen Coleman and Dr. Alexander Ledgerwood of Bluefield, WV; two daughters, Sheila Kennedy and husband Michael of Jolo, WV, and Sherri Cole and Johnny Jones of Iaeger, WV; two step daughters, Glenda Goodwin and husband Dwayne of Kingsport, TN and Lana Allen and husband Charlie of Welch, WV; son-in-law, Jerry Addair of Avondale, WV; brother, Billy Rutter of Tazewell, VA; sister and brother-in-law, Raymond and Imogene Coleman of Princeton, WV; 20 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
