Elizabeth Love Barnebee, 47, of Fort Myers, FL, passed away on September 5, 2023, in Bonita Springs, FL. Elizabeth was born on October 27, 1975, to Alicia and Mike Barnebee in Corsicana, TX. In middle school, Elizabeth moved to Naples, FL, where she would eventually kickstart her career and passion as a hairstylist. By age 18, she was the manager at First Choice Haircutters, where her inspiring energy spread to employees and customers alike. Elizabeth loved her career as a hairstylist and would go on to become a cosmetologist instructor. One of her greatest joys was educating aspiring students within the industry. She tremendously impacted countless lives - both personally and professionally. Because of Elizabeth's energetic teaching, her students were able to go on to enjoy lucrative careers where they made people look and feel beautiful. Many students attribute their passion to Elizabeth's desire to push people to be their best as she utilized her deep knowledge, positive attitude, trademark smile, personability, and empathic approach to teaching. Her relatable style allowed students to call her a friend, mentor, mother figure, and role model. Elizabeth additionally enjoyed being an aunt to her niece and nephews, a daughter to her mother Alicia, and a dog mom to her Scottish Terrier mix, Atticus. She displayed love for her family members through kind actions and a keen sense of humor. These relationships perfectly exemplify how Elizabeth served her purpose by showing kindness and love to all people, regardless of circumstance. Elizabeth also had passion for animals, England, music, boating, travel, nature, and history. Specifically, she was a walking encyclopedia on Roman and Egyptian history. These passions contributed to her unique sense of style that made her so memorable. Elizabeth is predeceased by Dr. J. H. and Toni Barnebee (paternal grandparents) as well as Daniel and Lavita Story (maternal grandparents). She is survived by Alicia and Mike Barnebee (parents) in addition to Michael Chris and Janice Barnebee (brother and sister-in-law). Services will be held at Fuller Funeral Home (Pine Ridge Rd in Naples) on September 23 at 2 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Elizabeth Barnebee Cosmetology Scholarship Fund. The scholarship will honor Elizabeth's legacy by empowering cosmetologist students to achieve their full potential. James Hosp

Age - 80

December 1, 2023

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of James H. Hosp (Jim), best friend and beloved husband of 56 years to Louise Derrico Hosp, devoted father to Terry Moltzau (Scott), Kristin Openshaw (Matt), Jaime Diaz (Carlos), and proud grandfather to Morgan and Ian Moltzau, Charlotte, Nate and Katherine Openshaw and Viani Diaz. Jim is also survived by his brother Jack and his wife Rose. Born in Syracuse, New York on November 30, 1942 to Margaret Haywood and John Hosp, Jim's life was full of love, friendship, laughter, kindness (and shenanigans). He graduated from Niagara University in 1964 with a Bachelor's degree in Business and continued his education at Adelphi University earning an MBA in 1968. Jim began his career in financial services as a stockbroker in Syracuse, NY for Bache and Company. Realizing his hard work ethic and tenacity, he was brought down to Wall Street holding different positions as Bache went through many mergers. He retired after 30 years as first Vice President of Prudential Securities and was well respected by his peers. He lived by the rule where your word was your bond and a handshake closed the deal. In 1963, Jim met Louise at Niagara University and would later describe their marriage as "the greatest love story". He settled in Trumbull, Connecticut for over 35 years, raising his family and creating lifetime friendships. Jim enjoyed the time spent at his summer home in the Adirondack Mountains at Bolton Landing on Lake George boating, fishing, and reading. When the cold winters were too much, he and Louise moved to Fort Myers, Florida, his new happy place. There Jim built additional lifetime friendships, was very active and loved the warm weather. You could catch him at aqua fitness with the "Bobbers" and crew, the golf course, relaxing by the pool, on his lanai or laughing and telling stories with his friends at Pelican Preserve. Jim was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and loved his family deeply. His strong Catholic faith carried him throughout his life. He was involved in many charitable organizations over the years as he believed in helping others. Jim always said "it doesn't hurt to smile and say hello to someone, it doesn't cost anything". He was a blessing and will truly be missed. A mass will be held on Thursday, December 28th at 10 a. m. , St. John XXIII Catholic Church 13060 Palomino Ln, Fort Myers, FL 33912. A separate mass and celebration of life will take place in Connecticut at the convenience of the family. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www. kiserfh. com for the Hosp family.Show more
